when you put a leave in in your hair after washing it, do you seal when the hair is still wet or do you wait til it dries?
thanks

hi! what i do after wash is towel dry (not 100%).i dry enough for the water not to drip on me,i hate that feeling. I leave my hair a bit wet though, never well dried. i tried adding oil once while dry and....didnt like it. When i leave it a bit wet my hair feels so soft and moisturised. then i immediatly do my big conrows and the next day its still soft (that when i us thick oil (castor a bit not too much)or using a mixture of shea butter with sweet almond works well on me.

I only do it after I towl-blot my hair. I have never tried it on dry hair and that's partly because I only moisturize while my hair is wet, therefore only sealing while wet.

Leave-ins don't do squat for me. After washing/co-washing, I seal with ceramide-laden oil on soaking-wet hair before blotting with a microfiber towel. It just sits on dry hair (unless I baggy).

I towel dry hair enough where it isn't dripping all over the place. Then I apply a leave-in mix (w/oil) then seal with shealoil butter. If I didn't wash my hair that day, I spritz with water or my leave-in mix and seal again. I don't see the point in oiling dry hair unless I'm wearing a straight style that I want to last.

yeah i wanna incorporate more ceramides in my hair but m only using hot 6 oil, nexxus humectress luxe leave in (i think it has ceramides, never tried it, just just got it) and ao gpb...is this enough? What do you use?

On my 3 daughters' hair, I always seal when wet. I apply the leave-in (kimmaytube's version) after towel blotting their hair, then I seal root to tip with a lemon-grass cented shea butter. My 3 yo has a dry scalp, so I sometimes oil her scalp with EVCO when I'm done.

I also seal my weave braids with shea buter after I've applied my leave-in.

i usually put leave in. then i let it airdry 90%. and i use a moisturizer + leave-in while styling it (bantu knot, braid out, bun... blah heehee their all b's!). but yeah, one time i put some oil in while my hair was yet and it just took much much longer to dry....

If the products help soften and smooth your hair, they are doing their job. Hot Oil 6 has sunflower oil in it; how is it working for you? Right now, I use hemp seed oil (¼ tsp each time) with a touch of emu oil and essential oils to counter the smell.

I seal when damp. Not soaking though. I either squeeze out excess water first or blot my hair with a towel moisturize then seal with EVOO

After i condition wash/deep add my leave in then i moisturize on wet hair then seal.

@nymphe i really like the oil, it seals the hair after i moisturize and leaves it very nice. Hit 6 oil has wheat germ oil, though not sunflower, it has sufflower oil though. I wanna try wheat germ or hemp oil (even though as you said, i heard it's very stinky, blah)

In the beginning of my HHJ, I was moisturizing and sealing on wet hair. I have since within the past couple of month let my hair air dry completly and then I moisturize and seal.

I started doing it this way because my hair dries faster and I use less product this way as well.
