Question About Profective???

I have been using this stuff and its great. I am about to relax my hair and I'm confused about the directions on the container. Should I WAIT three days before I relax or use it three days prior to when I relax. If someone could clear this up for me that would be great.

I just read the packagere & Post Strengthening:

--Apply daily for 3 days before and 3 days after relaxing and hair coloring.

---Apply to hair immediately before relaxing. Avoid applying on new growth.

I think they are trying to peddle it as a product that can strengthen your hair before and after a chemical service. So they're saying, "Buy this, and if you use it for 3 days before your relaxer, your hair will be stronger," or "If you want your hair to be stronger after a chemical service then use this for 3 days following."

--Anyway, that's what I THINK they're saying. I really like their products also, especially the Break Free leave in. By the way, I hope your hair comes out really nice, and from the directions, it sounds like you can use the product the day before---just make sure you don't put any on your new growth.

I must be the only one who's afraid of this stuff. When my hair touched my neck, my neck broke out in the most horrible rash...can't use it. Don't even know which one it was...

I don't use profective before my relaxer because both times that I used the yellow one my scalp burned SOOOOOOO bad...my cousin had the ame experience, but it could just be us.

I don't think you're supposed to use it near your newgrowth or scalp so that might be why it burned.

When I used the Healthy Ends I ended up getting a serious rash, but when I switched to Mega Growth it stopped.

I have broken out from many of the Profectiv products. The only ones I can use is the scalp stimulant for breakage (different consistency) and the three in one oil (if I mix it with something). Something is their product ingredients bothers me.
