Can We talk about this?

Ive read that it can be used as

a pre poo
scalp soother
deep conditioner
moisturizer
and leave in??

Is it heavy?

would it be beneficial on relaxed hair?

Great questions and I'm interested in this too and I'm also relaxed. I hear a lot of natural heads say that it's good but I want to hear from someone relaxed.

K..I'm glad you brought this up..I've really been trying to decide if I need this on my relaxed hair.

I am interested as well. I am relaxed and use the Qhemet's Sidr Tree Butter Balm and I LOVE IT! Not that I need another darn product, I wouldn't mind purchasing this. I am attracted to it because it has Amla in it.

I'm still waiting on my samples to come. I think TSUPrincess uses this. She's relaxed and transitioning.

I actually purchased this with the Qhemet sample kit and I love it. I'm 100% relaxed but it does wonders for my hair. One note of caution is that it is VERY HEAVY so for us relaxed heads we only need to use very little. as in very little or it will weigh your hair down. I use it at night by parting my hair in 4 sections and rubbing about a dime size (maybe a little less) throughout each section. So far so good. I haven't tried it as pre-poo or deep conditioner yet however.

I'm relaxed and I use it. I probably will NOT repurchase after I'm done w/ the jar though. It is VERY heavy & gummy/sticky to me. I now mix it w/ ORS Olive Oil & only use when I'm bunning. It does moisturize well though. The Sidr Tree Butter is my favorite moisturizer from this line, it's light, smells good & moisturizes well. HTH

I like that one, too.!

Hi Khandi!

I'm relaxed and I have used this and I must say it is moisturzing but it is VERY heavy like everyone has stated.

I have this and I am a natural. Unfortunantly, I haven't used it very often, so I can't wait to here other responses especially with using it as a pre poo.:p

I got the sample a while back. I use it on my scalp now with castor oil mixed to it. Adding an oil to it will thin it out. I really like it. I'll have to order the real size now. :)

I'm relaxed. I agree w/ others--it's very heavy but VERY moisturizing. I use it mainly on my ends and rub the excess thru my hair. I love it! I also use it on my daughter's natural 4b hair. Very moisturizing for her hair as well.

It's one of my staples. It's very heavy cream like everyone else stated but it works great. I use sparingly so my hair won't be weighed down (I've had the smaller sized jar for a couple of months now) mostly on my ends.
I also used it for flat ironing and loved it.
Basically, I just love it.

ETA: I am relaxed

I have used this on and I love it. I prefer the Sidr Tree stuff but they are both wonderful. I need to replenish my stash. SOmetime soon.
HTH:)

I use it and love it. If you're gonna wear your hair down, don't use too much. A teency weency bit goes a long way, and it won't make your hair feel weighed down or heavy if you use the right amount and once it's fully absorbed. I've been mainly using it as a moisturizer for my hair when wearing buns. What I've been doing is, after washing and conditioning my hair, I rollerset it, sit under the dryer, take out the rollers, run the Heavy Cream through my hair, and bun it. It may feel a bit greasy at first, but after about an hour or 2, my hair feels sooooooooooo soft and lucious. That's why I put emphasis on it being fully absorbed. My hair is sooooo soft right now. I use it as a sealant when I baggy my ends too.

I got the sample packet from Qhemet and I love the heavy cream too! I use it after I am at least 6 weeks post, any sooner and it would be too heavy on my hair. I must agree with everyone that you only need a little, I use a dime size amount throughout my entire head and my hair stays moisturized at least 2 days. I also only use while protective styling, which is 95% of the time anyway. HTH's Khandi!:D

ETA: I just repurchased the heavy cream and I used the 2oz sample size for 3 months....very little needed!!!

Have any of you ever used the Heavy Cream on wet hair as a leave in. The Sidr Tree is good for that, IMO, but can be too heavy if used too much for daily use.

Yes I have used it this way! But only when I've got some serious newgrowth up in here! It keeps the hair really moisturized and a little goes a long way.

Honeydew, I've used it before as a leave-in, and it really defined my newgrowth. I thought that by it being a thick cream, that it would make my hair difficult to comb through, but it didn't. I'm sure that you could put it in your hair while wet and slick it back in a bun or something. When I put it in my wet hair (I only did it once), I put mine in about 8 braids in an attempt to do a braidout. My braidout was a hot mess, but my hair sho' was soft :)

Its the best leave in ever IMO. I just ran out of it in Nov after 6-7 months( I had the 12 oz) It leaves my hair so moisturized like nothing else will. I'm about to do a re-order tomorrow

I got this last week to die for my hair so, so moist. Had to go back and order more and other stuff.
