WHen i airdry my hair which is what i do always it just ends up poofy fluffy looking. its not dry or damaged so why? I want sleek hair but dont know how to get this...any ideas without having to resort to major heat trauma and time wastage??? and also i have no skills in hair "doing" so anything that requires time skill and patience is kinda a last resort lol

Thanks

im in the same boat. for a while i was trying to figure out why my hair looked so dull and frizzy and i think it's because i air dry after with no product. ive done searches and so far i found that most people get good results if they use a leave in and a serum/oil after they wash and let it air dry. i plan on trying it. you can do a search there are a lof of threads on air drying. HTH

hey
thanks for replying, i guess it is about product usage etc i just use a conditioner or split end mender and thats about it. if thats all it is then im ok with that it makes it easier.
thansk again, i will do a search.

Airdrying in a rollerset would take care of that.:)

I agree with airdrying with rollerset. If you airdry with your hair loose, you'll probably end up with a lot of frizz. Also, make sure to use a good moisturizer that will protect your hair from drying out. I usually like to add a little oil or serum on top of the moisturizer. When I airdry, I usually do so by putting my hair in a ponytail and rolling the ends. If I'm in a hurry, I'll let it partially dry hanging down and then finish the process on rollers. Good luck.

Girl....u need to check out Sylver's fotki, I thought she had summin in there with a scarf tied down...*wait, that chile be blow dryin sometimes....but check it out anyways. lol*
and get some serum on those ends to tone down the frizz with airdrying
*hug*

hey
thansk for the roller setting idea...but thats way beyond my scope of intellect...i cant do them...lol...they look too much hard work.
my hair isnt frizzy its just i dunno poofy i dont have any pics to explain it,,,oh man!!! lol ooh did i mention i dry in a bun? does that make more sense??
lol
thanks guys...

I usually apply a leave in to my wet hair let it dry a little then seal with an oil and put it a pony tail to dry. My hair never airdrys frizzy this way as long as i put it in a pony tail while still damp and with a leave in. Then i tied it down with a scarf. HTH

i air day so to get my hair smooth and sleek cuz mine will get poofy as well, after i hop outta the shower i pat dry with a towel and smooth my hair down with whatever moisturizer i am using then i cover w/a scarf and by the time i get up in the am the hair is dry and nice and smooth and moisturized. hth

Long ago, Supergirl and Tracy made a post on how they airdried hair without rollersetting the wet hair. I have done this also. It's a variation of what Sylver2 does sometimes.

This is what I do: Let the hair hair drip-dry-- No towel blotting. Put a scarf over the top of your hair, tautly. Comb it with a medium sized comb every couple of hours. When hair is dry, I put caruso rollers on.

I wish I had a better picture, but this is all I have: http://www.geocities.com/su_presa787/tenn.jpg

Thanks everyone for posting. I will have to try these ideas and see if they work...will let u know...

That's what I was gonna suggest, airdrying in two platts or twist and tie it down w/a scarf. The scarf helps flatten the roots and the twist or platts helps the ends dry smoother/sleek. I normally use a little humectress or NTM w/jojoba oil, but yesterday I didn't use anything and my hair came out fine airdrying it tied down. I'm 2 months post and my NG was basically put to sleep, lol.
