Protein Treatment

Ihave had protein overload twice already since I started caring for my hair. I've finally balanced my hair. I think its time for protein again because I saw a broken hair. I'm a little nervous. Here are the reconstructors I have: mop c-system reconstructor and nexxus kerahix. I also have aphogee hardcore, but I really don't want to use that one. I would prefer not to buy something new either. Please let me know how I can use these to strengthen my hair and not have protein overload. I have different oils and stuff so any suggestions about adding something to it would be helpful. TIA.

Hmmmmm.....if you use those hard core protein reconstructors you're going to have to really over do the moisturizing. My crazy advice would be to wet your hair daily or constantly put moisturizers and humectants in your hair...OR you can trash the hard core protein stuff and use a lighter one. Some people's hair can't take all of that protein like some people's hair mush up with moisture overload. I have one of those heads. My hair thrives on moisture. Also, you said you saw a broken hair and believe it's time for more protein. I feel it's the opposite. Protein overload breaks hair. Sounds like your hair is begging for moisture. If you need protein, your hair will get mushy and soft. This is just my advice and experience though, maybe someone with more helpful advice will come along.....BUMP.

ETA~ You have beautiful hair by the way!

I use Apoghee 2 min. Protien treatment I was told not to add any thing too it. As soon as you take out the protien treatment in your hair. You must after the treatment you must back it up with a nice and deep conditoner for your hair so it can soften it up.

I do my protien treatments once and every 3 months!

My hair is also kinda stretchy when wet. It doesn't feel brittle or snap or anything. Thanks for the compliment. I think your hair beautiful too.oh and I havnt used protein a lil while plus I've been doing steam treatments and dcing with protein free conditioners. It feels moisturized.

I add 2 or 3 caps (full) of the hard-core Aphogee to conditioner, or you can use an egg or mayo to add protein without overdoing it.

are you the one that loves the mop moisture conditioner? if so mix a little of that with the mop reconstructor. and use a good moisturizing leave in.

I think I'll do this and add a little bit of wheat germ oil to it. Thanks for the tip. One question, do I have to deep condition again with a moisturizing conditioner afterwards?
