Hello Ladies,

For those of you who use/d M&T, how did/does it effect your hair?

I’m considering the conditioner because it has protein, but I'm a little leery. Some of the posts I've read in the past mentioned ill effects from the potent protein content. Can you please tell me how your hair reacted in comparison to another protein product. Thanks!

In the past the protein in MnT shampoo & conditioner was too much. But I know now that I was using it wrong.

I have to dilute the shampoo very well or it will strip the moisture out of my hair. An ounce of shampoo can mixed in 32 ounces of water. But since I'm lazy I just pour so much into an old bottle and then add water every time I shampoo.

With the conditioner--to make it more moisturizing I'll add a bit of honey to it. Only when my hair seems to need it.

CK,

Can you compare the result you had to anything?

The reason I ask is I can only use a dime-size of Salerm21 (a leave-in) weekly, and have to do 2 months on/2 months off or my hair will start to feel a little brittle ... Aphogee's treatment turns my hair to a stiff mess for weeks ... I am trying to gauge the type of result I'd get if I use the conditioner only once a week. Sorry for the ear full

Oh-no problem!
I've used Aveda Sap Moss, Rusk (the one w/ Marine Proteins), Tresseme (sp?) & etc but MnT seems to be my old faithful these days. It keeps my hair strong and makes it thicker. I use the conditioner daily and I've used the shampoo more than once a week with no ill effects. It never makes my hair stiff. But for safety measures I have a "cheap" moisturizing conditioner on hand. If my hair feels "not as silky" in the shower that's when pull out my Garnier Smooth & Sleek conditioner as a follow up.

I hope I'm answering your questions...

I've only used MNT once (the last time I washed my hair), and after I used the shampoo, my hair did feel stiff, but after I used the conditioner (the moisturizing one) my hair became soft.

Hey AudraChanel

I don't have any comparisons for you regarding the protein levels in MNT, but I can tell you that I've had similar experiences to Chocokitty's. I don't dilute the shampoo now, but I do use sparingly. Also, I started doing co washes daily with the conditioner, and my hair likes it. Knock on wood, I have not seen any breakage doing that.

I don't use it as a leave-in all the time. Since I started co washing, I haven't really needed to use it as a leave-in on a regular basis. When I do use it as a leave-in, I put it on my hair and scalp. Doing that, I had to add a bit of oil to the conditioner because it seemed to harden when airdried. Since doing this, I have only done one protein treatment w/Aphogee in almost 8 months.

HTH,

I used the MNT conditoner to wash, and although it was okay for detangling, it left my hair stiff. I don't know what I would compare it too, but I'm not using it anymore because you'd have to follow it up with something. I also wasn't crazy about the scent.
