I was wondering if it was OK to put a protein like Aphogee in your hair RIGHT AFTER your touch up the same day? I heard somewhere that is it not good for your hair being that it just got permed. It will cause it to break off because of too much stress. Is that true?

also, what do you put in your hair after your touch up?

thanks.

I would think "NO" because Aphogee burns and after a touchup your pores are bound to be opened so I wouldn't recommend it...

I was reading about this earlier today. I use the 2 minute one after rinsing out the relaxer but I 've never used the hardcore one. That's the one mentioned here, the hardcore one. Here's a link to another thread about this http://www.longhaircareforum.com/showthread.php?t=135833

So the answer is no. No protein treatment afterwards. Hummm... So i guess just a good regular condish? or a reconstructor?

I was reading sistaslick's article on preparing for a relaxer. She suggest clarifying and doing a protein treatment a week before a relaxer. This way your hair is fully prepared. After the relaxer just make sure you deep condition and no heat! :)
