Protective Styling (bunning in particular!)

Okay...I'm just curious. Ladies who bun EVERY SINGLE DAY...Do you let your hair down only for special occasions? Is your hair just long for your satisfaction? Do you keep your hair long for religious reasons??? I'm just curious. I know a lady with hip length (or longer) hair, but I've never seen it down before. She always wears it in this massive bun of banded hair. She has worn her hair like this for as long as I've been alive. I *think* that it's a religious conviction for her.

I was just curious. I wear my hair in a bun every once in a while, but I've noticed bunning challenges, and seen reggies were ladies bun daily. Also, does daily bunning include only bunning at night? Sorry if this has been asked, but I'm new and just wondering

Yes, I only wear my hair down for special occasions....sometimes if I get tired of bunning, I just wear it down.....I keep my hair long for one reason, and that's because I never had it pass apl...so I want to see how long it can get, no religious reason.......sometimes I bun at night but if you decide to do that, be careful with how tight it the bun it, cuz it can stress out your nape...I hate bunning, but I do it cuz I don't feel like styling my hair, when I get to bsl, I'm going to wear ponytails until whenever......HTH.....

I'm growing my hair out for ME. I could care less if nobody ever sees it's true length.
If i'm following a bun/pony regi I have left it in overnight but not as secure as I would in the day.

It has been many years, but I have let my hair down for special events. I bun daily, because it is easy, and I am lazy. I am growing my hair as a personal challenge, just wanna see how long it can grow. I take my hair down nightly when I wear my baggy and silk cap. People are surprised by my length. Wearing my hair out makes me look totally different, so much so, people do not recognize me right off. Then yes, there are those who want to know if it's all my hair! This was a good question.
