Protecting your hair from winter coats . . .

How do you do it? Do you wear a silk scarf over your hair tied under your chin Jackie O style? (Although knowing me I'd probably look more like Little Red Riding Hood or some type of european peasant.) Or do you drape the scarf over on top of the coat, covering your shoulders? (Whenever I try to do it this way it always falls off!)

I am anti-bun queen right here..probably why it has taken me forever to get to BSL..oh well, but in the winter I do do a loose bun when I have my coat on and may let my hair down, or where a snood under a beret or something..

Until this year that option was out the question because it get's hella cold in Philly and silk scarves ain't cuttin it. I was only using winter scarves- actually ones that I am proud to say that I crocheted myself Anyway, I believe this year I will start wearing a silk scarf, but under my normal winter scarf. I will let the silk come up over the winter scarf so it will be between my "kitchen" or nape and my winter scarf. I will be wearing my hair up most of the winter.

So far I've been wearing a puff (high on my head) and putting extra product on my ends. It seems to be working.

I might look kinda dorky, but I use U-pins to pin my ends under while I'm wearing my coat. Then I take them down when I get to my destination.
