I tuck my ends under; after wrapping it around. and pin it. Then put on a invisible net.

JJamiah So how do you secure the donut. Do you tuck the ends under before secure the donut. Are you using like a sock or something for the donut. Or do you just use your hair?

GIJane, First I put a ponytail holder on my hair, then slide the Donut over it. Then I fan out the hair so it surrounds the whole donut then I take an elastic band, and put it over it then I twist the hair around the bun and tuck the ends and pin it in, I put the invisible net over it, twist and tuck that as well.

It really doesn't come loose. I work out like this and sometimes it is able to stay at least 5 days no issues and sometimes a week.

I take mine down at night, slather on moisturizer and seal....then I redo the bun in the morning. I do it maybe every other day.

I cover my ends in castor oil, fan the hair around the donut bun. I then use a ponytail holder to secure the hair/ends under the donut bun. I do not use bobby pins anymore for my bun.

I moisturize and seal then tuck the ends under the bun. I then pin the bun down with large bobbie pins. I don't sleep with the bun. I just redo the bun the next day. It only takes me a few minutes.

I have an entry in my LHCF blog about.

-pony the hair
-put donut at the base of the pony
-swirl the hair around and tuck ends under the donut (tuck without pinning)
-put hairnet on top of donut bun
-secure with good days hair pins

I moisturize and seal, then when I fan the hair over the donut I just use one brand new hair tie to secure, single flat twist the excess hair around it then bobby pin the end of the twist into the base of the bun.

Thanks everyone. I guess I was doing it right. But for some unknown reason I would get breakage. I guess the bun was too tight or something. What I was doing was wetting the bun with a leave in moisturizer. Then add the leave in on my ends of my hair. Using elastic secure a pony tail with my own hair. Then slide the donut bun over my ponytail. Using cream moisturizer fan my hair out over the hair bun (FYI- my bun has synthetic hair on it). Then put an elastic over my hair and the bun. Tuck my ends under. Then use a scrunchie to secure it.
