Project YOU, Project ME....2009

Hello Ladies,

I want to propose a relationship challenge for 2009 dealing with one of the most important, long lasting relationship of your life – your relationship with YOU!

Loving and respecting yourself is crucial for healthy relationships with others – family, friends, and yes, a lover or husband.

This go me thinking about how we could best work on “US” with a loving mindset – not an “I’m not good enough yet because (fill in the blank)” burden.

Partially inspired by the popular “act like a goddess, be treated like one” “worth of a woman” and “the rules” threads, women need to love, honor and respect ourselves and others (not just men) will have to either join in or fall to the sidelines!

Disclaimer: This challenge is NOT about ….how to catch a man….how to get him to call me….. to get him to take you out on a date….or buy you a ring or a gift.

So, let’s invest some quality time together nurturing our inner and outer GODDESS! This challenge is about developing YOU into your full potential and loving yourself along the journey.

I propose that we each pick ONE trait (will be different for each person) to develop (or some may need to focus on eliminating a self-defeating treat) each month, and share our stratigies and progress.

Hopefully each month will draw you closer to being the YOU that you have the potential to be. You can share as much or little as you would want, but please share anything that you found was particularly helpful or challenging because someone else is probably dealing with the same issue.

Would anyone like to join me?

Ps. I couldn't think of a challenge title.... so Project YOU, Project ME will have to do!:spinning:

This sounds fun; I'll join.

For January, I want to focus on growing even more comfortable with my POV and opinions. I used to think my opinions and voice were somehow less valid than others and this stunted my growth in my relationship with myself.

During the month, I will journal about this level of self-acceptance and work on voicing my opinion in settings where I would typically remain silent.

This will require that I grow to a new level of self-acceptance which will increase my love and respect for myself.

Yay! :yay:

Id like to focus on my confidence but i dont think that can change. So il focus on changing my complacency. I need to study;-)

I am very interested in participating, but I'll have to come back later with what I need to work on. I need to do some thinking and sorting.

Wow, this is a great idea D. I.!

:yep: We may not be able to master each trait prefectly in just a month, but this will move us closer in the right direction!

Hi Austro-Afrikana,

Maybe you can take a small step towards feeling more confidence. Start slow and again be gentle with yourself and the process!

But first........ finish studying!:yep:

Welcome CinnaMizz!

It could be something that you want more of…….like being grateful, learning to relax, building confidence or staying positive……………or some trait that you need to let go of…such as negative self-talk, gossiping, or unhealthy habit.

Whew! I really need this one. I think for Jan I want to work on spending more time with myself and being comfortable on my own. I am enough.

This is the challenge for me!!!! January will be my wake up call month! I have been neglecting me for a while, so I will be focusing on embracing my inner beauty! Best of luck to each of you!

I want to spend January working on my physical body. Feeling comfortable with my body physically will add a boost to my self-confidence and I can add goals from there. Considering I tend not to workout b/c I'm lazy, this will be a challenge!

I'm in. I need to be my own CEO, as one lady so eloquently phrased it on the board.
January will be the month I devote to my physical body, starting with a partial 7 day fast.

Welcome to the challenge ladies!

For the month of January, I plan to focus on having a good attitude and staying in a positive frame of mind!

I'm in !!! This month I am going to work on my potty mouth. :perplexed
Although I know it is very unbecoming, in the past I seem to not be able to tame my tongue. I want the words of my mouth to be as beautiful as I am.

For the month of January, I am focusing on my physical body, because I don't want to continue to wallow about my weight gain. Once that is out, I can focus on other goals!

I want to also add that I will start smiling more. Smiling and working out, at once!

Each morning before I get out of bed I pray and give thanks; set my goals for the day; and make the declaration that today will be a GREAT day!

I would like to focus on being more confident and stop saying "Thank You" every single time I open my mouth.

Ladies, I want this challenge to be no pressure, no guilt - should I create a membership list or would this make people feel too obligated?

I really want this to be a “self–directed” challenge that everyone takes at their own pace.
