Why is it that no one really gives themselves relaxers with the salon brands?

Would it be bad to give myself a touch up with mizani or affirm, but better if I use a non salon brand instead?

I also give myself a touch up with Affirm, but I agree with cutebajangirl.

I have to disagree. Many of the members use salon brand products(ie Affirm & Mizani). I even tried them for a while but found that the best relaxer (for me) is Revlon realistic.

Where/how can I purchase Affirm? Maybe I'll buy the stuff for my hairdresser to use on my hair. Right now the salon only uses Optimum and Motions. I have the Optimum (no-lye). I've read a lot about no-lye relaxers drying the hair out. My hair is not necessarily dried out, but I do get these white flakes on my comb sometimes.

I thought it may have been dandruff or other scalp buildup, but I don't have a dry scalp and I don't use products on my scalp that would cause a buildup . . . so I wonder . . . could it be calcium deposits from the no-lye relaxer?

Anyway, just thinking about switching to Affirm, but know that it's hard to get unless one's a professional. So, for those of you who have obtained it, how'd you do it? I know one of my other options is to find a stylist who uses it, but I have a really good relationship w/my current stylist and want to stick w/her.

You can purchase Affirm products from Sheeldez.com. They sell Affirm and Mizani relaxers. I personally use Affirm Fiberguard (the whole line). I think it is a matter of choice and availability.

Thanks . . . I'm still debating whether to go lye or maintain my no-lye. Have a couple of month before my retouch to decide. In any event, I think I want to switch to Affirm, but will research it a bit more.

Hey, LiqueXX, I am assuming you have ordered from sheldeez before. How long did your order take? Is there credit card system secured and is it faster or, do you reccommend the use of a money order? Thanks.
