Products for Conditioner Washes

I would like to know what conditioners work best for conditioner products aside from Suave Coconut Conditioner. I would like to start this procedure and I have read quite a few tips on here but would like to know more about what products to use.

Currently I have Motions Moisture Plus. Can I use this or should I use something else? Please tell me your suggestions and experiences. Thanks.

hey carmen,

i have to admit that i am not a real conditioner wash girl because the drying time is just too long for me.
but i guess the motions would be fine. i would say any conditioner that is not too rich/thick in consistency would be just right. you don't want too much build up either.
the infusium conditioner is very good. also for me pantene(smooth and sleek) and herbal essences (intensive blends) are very good. and it smells soooooo goood. /images/graemlins/smirk.gif

I actually like the humecto and Affirm's 5 in 1 reconstructor. I'm going to try GPB soon, I'll let you know.

Thanks for the suggestions so far. I actually stopped by the Beauty Supply store and searched for some conditioners. I was actually looking at Pantene's Complete Therapy and Infusium's conditioners. I also looked at the Dominican conditioners, but I'll go to another thread with that one. /images/graemlins/wink.gif

I am such a product junkie... /images/graemlins/blush.gif

Hey Nay!

What do you mean by drying time? I have to check the procedure I've read about. Are you not supposed to dry it the way that you would normally dry your hair?

carmen,

the only reason why i don't do the conditioner washes on a regular bases (every day) is because i dry my hair either iin a bun or one or two braids. let's say i wash my hair in the evening at 1800 my hair will NOT be dry in the morning. plus in the morning i would rebraid it or comb it and put it back in a bun. so in the evening it still would be damp. and then i would do a conditioning wash again. i just don't like my hair being damp all the time. i also like to brush my hair cause it's good for my scalp and it feels sooo good. and i can only brush it when it is completely dry (at least that's what's best for your hair). so i just stick with washing my hair every 3 or 4 days. but i do think it is very good for the hair.
i will start doing this when i wash my hair:

wet my hair

put a regular conditioner in the length of it (nowhere near the scalp)

then wash my hair - but not the length - with shampoo.

then rinse everything.

then apply my regular conditioner.

i think this will work pretty good for my hair. but i will let you know after i tried it. i read about this on another hair board.

how long is your hair carmen?

Nay!

I was considering doing the conditioner washes only once a week. I wash my hair now only once a week and want it to increase to twice a week. I thought I might make the 2nd wash a conditioner wash since I heard so much about them. I am going to purchase the Pantene Complete Therapy conditioner or Smooth and Sleek.

My hair is 14-15". I have not officially measured it but according to a hair chart that I have, it is that length. It is past the shoulders but not quite bra strap length yet. /images/graemlins/smirk.gif

By the way, let us know how that new technique works. It sounds interesting. /images/graemlins/cool.gif

Tropical Avocado conditioner is good for conditioner washes because it sort of lathers.

The Suave Naturals Aloe is good, too. I'm not a "real" conditioner wash girl, but I have done it every once in a while (mostly when I'm wearing my hair curly for period of days).
Those are the two products that worked the best for me.
