Product Rave!!! Maxiglide!!got Pics!!

wow!!! it is so shiny.. sleek and straight.. it looks like a full blown fresh relaxer!!! now you've got to answer some questions..
what is Maxiglide?
what kind of flat iron did you use?
did you use a brush or comb?
any other products?
please share!!!

Please let me know how this holds up. I want one, but my DH works at the company that sells these and while they are selling like hot cakes, he said everyone who works there thinks it's a joke. Supposedly, it looks good for just a few hours on "our" hair and then puffs up and swells.

My daughter's hair came out like that except your's is much straighter. Im loving it  did you use their leave-in and serum (i didn't)?

Would that be because of the Maxiglide or the products that are used in conjunction with it?

Lil momma's lookin' so cute in your avatar. My daughter had that same grin on her face too. BTW I forgot to mention I added a little WGO to her braids.

I KNOW the products helped. But it's what I use everytime I press her hair. It was an easier and a less timely process, cause usually I'm sweatin' and grouchy by the time I'm done with her hair. And the setting was on low. I don't plan on straightening her hair again anytime soon, maybe her next cheer competition. But next time I'll use the same thing but no so much cause I always over do it. I'm not sure I've answered your question, hope so.

OK I put a 3 hour timer on cause of you:grin: but so far so good, you probably couldnt tell in the pic but I didn't get her front edges good, so they're still lookin frizzy. but its still straight. Now tomorrow after flippin on the grass(she's prissy tomboy) and playing with her cousins, it may be another story.

I was actually replying to options' post because she said that her husband works at the company and they felt the product was a joke and when used on curly hair the hair puffs up in a few hours. I was asking if it was really because of the MAXIglide or the products that were used. I just got mine in the mail today and used it on my son's natural hair. I really liked it and actually did a section with the MAXIglide and with my regular cermaic-plated flat iron. The pins in the MAXIglide really helped separate the strands and straighten his hair and my regular flat iron just "pressed" all the strands together and I needed to place the comb after the flat iron to get the near similar results as just using the MAXIglide alone. Also His hair is more tightly-curled towards the ends so I had to put the MAXIglide on this ends first to soften them up with the steam and then I brought it through again from the roots. I had to go through the section a few times to get it totally straight though and on the highest setting.

OK, so I'm a post scanner:Clown: and I need to wear my glasses:bookworm:
I was going to use the flat plate but I couldn't figure out how to use it. Now, does that teeth looking thing need to come off first?

I love this thing!!!!!!!!! I used it last weekend and my hair is still straight, not as shiny, but I've been neglecting my daily moisturizers. When I got to work on monday, I got tons of complements. The ones that surprised me the most where the ones from the guys! Men don't really notice these things, unlss it looks really good/ or different!! I wouldn't give you mine for anything.

Yeah, I got the hookup. LOL. I am getting one next week for $40. That's his discount.

Anyway, I am not sure if they mean the iron alone is a joke, or if it's a joke whether or not the products are used in conjunction with it. I do know that my DH said many, many women at his company, of all races, have used it and felt that the results were quite short-lived. But it seems like some of the women here have had good results, which is why I am willing to try it.

i tend 2 agree with ur husband... i used it on my daughter's hair twice and each time, within a few hours, her hair swelled up BUT in the maxiglide's defense, she was all over the place.

QUESTION:

Hi Ladies,
Okay, I read all your posts regarding Maxiglide, and I have to say I felt complelled to purchase...sigh. Oh well, I am excited to try it out.

But I have a two part question for those of you that have been using it for a while. I had always heard that steam was bad for your hair in two senses. One is that it (steam) actually frizzes curly hair. The other is that I've heard that blowdrying as a drying method is not good for your hair because the water in the hair shaft can swell as it expands and turns into steam and can erruptions within the hair shaft (I speak from experience on this one.) So my question really is 1) any probelms with frizzies after using Maxiglide, and, 2) any hair breakage or weakness after multiple uses with the steam feature? Also, if so, how did you combat these problems?

Would love to know before my own arrives in the mail this week!
Gracias!
