I would like to try prepooing but not sure where to start so how do you go about prepooing and what products do you use and how long do you do it for?

Here is one thread you can read: http://www.longhaircareforum.com/showthread.php?t=528501&highlight=pre+poo

There are many others. Just search using "pre-poo" <--- type exactly like that.

But here is the summary: You can use oils, conditioners or aloe vera juice or gel mixed with oils for as little as 15 minutes to overnight (as long as you like). The idea is to saturate your hair with the mix to so that when you shampoo it cleans without stripping every bit of the natural oil off. If that makes sense.

I use conditioner on my hair for about 30 minutes before washing

I've been using Chicoro's pre-poo recipe for a couple of months now. OMG- I LOVE it! I pre-poo overnight, mainly cuz I use a very drying clarifying poo, and I want/need the extra moisture.

You apply a mix of AVG and a tbsp or so of oil to each section of your hair, then go back and seal each section with melted coconut oil.

Best pre-poo ever!

I use coconut oil......sometimes I will add essential oils.

I give myself a good head massage for about 5 minutes......let sit for about 15 minutes or more, depending on how much time I have......then wash.

I've used the Chicoro method for 30 minutes before washing and it works wonders.

I pre-poo with either Aphogee 2-Min + hemp seed oil, or Aubrey Organics Glycogen Protein Balancing Conditioner + hemp seed oil.
