Im gonna attempt No Blow Drying and No Flat / Curling Ironing until August 25th..

I need some help on protective styling..

Me too! I'm attempting no heat until December 2006!

I plan to bun, bun, bun & braid outs, braid outs, braid outs. I know, I need more options.

Ugh, pray for me while I pray for you Kandi, it seems as if every no heat challenge I go on I fail. But I will try to not apply heat until Christmas- I know i'm pushing it.

Me Too.. But Im not happy with my hair right now, so Im gonna see if I do something different will it change :)

sweet_ambrosia - I cannot do a bun

Im planning to work on braidouts , twistouts, and a rollerset here or there..
Maybe this will finally force me to learn how to rollerset :)

sassyhair - If I cant get the conventional set right, I will do a ponyset :)

I haven't had direct heat since March. The only heat i've had has been sitting under a hooded dryer about 3 times and that's because I was going out and didn't wanna have wet hair. I airdry my hair and I do rollersets and buns. I rollerset 2 times a week, I pin curl at night and the other days I do buns and bantu knots. I know these may seem a bit boring and repetitive but with te right hair accessories you can make these styles look different and give a variety of looks.
Good luck with the no heat I plan on doing heat only when I relax and even then it will be minimal!!!!

I've been on my personal no heat challenge since March 1st of this year. It was easier for the first few months when I had braids, but once I took them out in middle of June, I used my flat iron three times in a row :perplexed . Since then I've had absolutely no heat.
Well my point is that it's hard when you start out but just give it some time and you'll get used to it. Trust me I was a heat addict and now my hair is underprocessed  but I'm being strong and trying to use no heat at all until September 10th. Not to long ago this would've been my worse nightmare. So I'll pray for you and everyone in this thread  . We all need it.
Good luck you hair is beautiful and I'm sure it will only get better.

My prob is I like my hair straight..

I think I can do it.. Im not doing NO heat, just no blow drying and no using flat iron, or curling iron, I will use heat to DC and rollerset..

and thats still a maybe :D
