I've worn a style similar to this where I roll the hair instead if cornrowing it. Similar to mook's, sort of like victory rolls.
this is actually one of my signature styles. i do two large flat twist instead of cornrows though. it has a regal effect to it in my opinion. i've gotten complements from random strangers (men and women) when i wear this style and it take all of 5 minutes to do. :)

ETA: Longhairdontcare11 rocks this style lovely. maybe in 2 more years i'll be on that level. YouTube - Pt 2:2 Crown twist tutorial

I was catching up on lhdc's videos the other day and came across that vid. Simply beautiful and her gorgeous bone structure makes it when more striking.

I'd wear it, but it would look too 'homely' in jeans + tshirt on me. I do think you can dress it up (flower, hair pin etc) to sophisticate the look.

I used to wear my hair like this all the time back in the 80s. I don't think I could pull the look off now.

Very cute. I'd definitely give it a go. --- One of these days --- when I feel like doing something more than wetting it or taking a few braids out. :look:

I do a version where my hair is twisted since I can't french braid to save my life. I like to do mine with a side part.

I say Yea but I actually prefer the look with twisted or french braided hair.

I really need the thank button ..Mook Iove the twist! Classy !

I give it a big NAY!!! My mother use to do my hair like that when I was younger and would tuck the ends in the back..I called it the crown of ceaser and HATE IT to death.

thats how my hair is now...but its only cause I cant cornrow str8 back..only on the sides...its my PS under my wig..

definite yay. :yep: that is such a cute look i just can't figure out how to cornrow.

I have been trying to find someone that could braid my hair like this. I want to see if someone could do it on a Sunday and see how long they last.

I've been wearing this style for the past 3 days. Tomorrow I'm gonna wear a puff. It's simple and easy. I did mine with flat twists instead of cornrowing. I've gotten compliments with it. I also didn't dress it up. I felt like an old lady with it today for some reason, so I feel like taking it out now.

I'd wear it...I think it's cute and it's a look than can be formal or casual if done right. I'd have to have a professional do it for me though since I'm a little "style challenged" when it comes to cornrowing my own hair. :yep:

I have done it before on a whim and gotten compliments. Seeing the pics makes me want to do it tomorrow and wear some nice dangly earrings. :)

Me too! I thought I invented this style, LOL. I can't see myself wearing it anymore, but it was cute, I used to get a lot of compliments on it.

That's the beauty of this style, it's just a braid, you pick up a little more hair each time you braid. It really isn't hard.

While I hated this style as a kid, my mom would have the braids raised up on my head and I looked like a horse, I find that wearing the braids looser and lower is a pretty and delicate style. I love it! I plan to wear my hair like this as a protective style throughout the winter. (Great hairstyle for working out, too.)

My sis does this often. Because it's such a conservative style, it looks great if you have a somewhat sexy outfit on and nice makeup. I'm gonna try it when I take a wig break.

Pretty much my go-to style if I'm not wearing a wash and go. I dress it up with a cute headband.

I get lots of compliments from the white folks.

My problem is what to do with the back. It's getting too long to just cross the braids at the back and pin them up. I need to invest in some cute barrettes, I guess.

I love it on other women, but it's just not an "outside" style for me. I wear my hair like that under wigs or when working out though. Sometimes I'll do it like that for bed, then take it out in the morning for flowy waves.
