METHODS TO TRY / PRODUCTS TO BUY
Bun challenge - I plan to wash my hair 1X per week using one of the shampoos mentioned above. When my hair feels dry or weird I will only use my homemade shampoo which is very gentle but cleansing. I will follow up with a mixture of the various conditioners mentioned above. I will mostly use the Paul Mitchell mixed with the V05 conditioner. I found a neat thing at the Container store that allows me to keep my condioners (ALL OF THEM ) in the shower , as well as my olive oil. It's a squeeze bottle that hangs on a suction cup hook in the shower. I can also take these squeeze bottles with me when I travel (which has been a lot lately). Anywho - once I condition my hair, while it is soaking wet (in the shower) I pour olive oil in my hair and then squeeze excess water (and oil) out. I then mix a tablespoon of my herbal apple cider vinegar rinse with a cup of cold water (this I will only do twice a month). Sometimes I will put additional oil in my hair (Hairobics) and then pull my hair into one to two ponytails (using scrunchies). I will then put the KOSBP on my ends (V-challenge) and either braid my hair or tuck it into a bun.

I will "try" to faithfully conditioner wash my hair every other day. When I just conditioner wash I will still use an oil in the shower and the sqeeze my hair to eliminate excess water/oil. I'll put my hair back into 1 or 2 ponytails and put KOSBP on my ends and either braid it up and bun it up .

I might try the Surge (jury is still out on that one). I may wear a phonytail.

CURRENT VITS
One a Day multivitamin(or something similar) OR Elements for the Hair (I think that is what it is called).
Flax seed oil (maybe)
Evening Primrose oil (maybe)
Calcium supplement

REGIME IN ORDER
*Follow routine mentioned above weekly
* Wear hair curly 99.5% of the time (I may try a rollerset December 2004)

MAJOR REGIME CHANGE
Taking a hair vitamin

I NEED TO STAY MOTIVATED TO
- consistently stay on routine mentioned above
- gently detangle my hair (I get impatient and start raking - yikes)
- take my vits
- actually bother to deep condition ( I fell off the wagon)
- Wear satin scarf and bonnet at night - consistently (and try not to sleep so hard that both come off!!!!!)

- co wash 2-3 times a week with V05 Kiwi and Lime Squeeze and Cholesterol (start off by wetting hair with ACV rinse to combat hard water)
- Air dry
- Clarify with elucence weekly
- Shampoo wash every 2 weeks
- Aphoghee or Emergencee protein treatment when needed
- Moisturize with Cathy Howse's cream moisturizer, Dew,S-Curl, and Hollywood Beauty Olive Cream (wonderful)
- Vaseline on ends when needed
- Wear hair in protective styles 95% of time (two french braids or bun with satin scrunchi)
- Relax every 6-8 weeks (the most my hair can take)

Hair GOAL: healthy Bra-Strap length hair by August 2004

Training everyday leaves me with sweaty hair.
My routine is as followed.

Massages: everyevery morning with rosemary, cedarwood, sage, jojoba, emu, almond oil. (sometimes I will vary carrier oils.)

After workout: warm water rinses for 6 mins. 15 minute conditioning with Natures Gate Biotin Gel. Then ACV rinse I do this for three days. Then on the third night I apply warm castor oil and olive oil to hair and ends. Cover with plastic cap and sleep on overnight.
Fourth morining: rinse with warm water for 6 mins. Cleanse with Alberto VO5 clarifying conditioner.
Deep condition with Regis Hydrating Balm for an hour under steam towel. Rinse
Leave ins: a mixture of safflower, jojoba, almond oil, Africa best Ulitmate oil, with 1/2 teaspoon Regis Hydrating Balm in 8 oz of water (Rosemay water) put in spray bottle and saturate hair. Then spray Alberto VO5 Hair Therapy Leave in.
Allow to dry until moist, finger comb from ends up, comb with large tooth comb, braid and apply castor oil to ends.
About every two weeks I will cleanse scalp with tiny amount of clarifying shampoo.
Clarifying: I will comb through hair well and braid in four pieces. Wet hair. I will dip the tip of my fingers in a clarifying shampoo mixed with Soft Sheen Carson's Breakthru. Holding the end of braid ... I go under and up the braid and apply shampoo to scalp. Massaging the scalp with finger tips. I do this to each section. I then rinse and allow shampoo to drain down the length of hair.

If hair needs extra help I will do an oil conditioning treatment with Sesame seed oil, hemp oil and Flax seed oil under a steamed towel for 20 mins.

do daily co washes with either VO5, Pantene R&N, or garnier fructis.
Spray damp hair and scalp with a small amount of Surge and add a moisturizer.
Add moisturizer at night,Spray Surge, and do scalp massage with Hot 6 oil.

Clarify twice a month
Deep Condition once a week with lustrasilk aloe vera cholesterol
Protein Treatment once a month with IC aloe reconstructor
Only comb hair when wet or damp
Take vitamins daily.

My regimen is:

Wash my hair twice per week. Wednesday moisturzing conditioner and weekend protein conditioner w/ heat. (I found this really good shampoo that has not made my hair dry it is called Botanicals Coco-Almond Moisturizing Shampoo from Soft And Beautiful) way better then Creme of Nature. Oil my scalp with a scalp cocktail that I created which consists of castor oil, almond oil peppermint, rosemary and lavendar oil, also massage my scalp twice per week. Every night moisturize my hair and ends with an oil. WGO or Proclaim 7 oil. Hot oil treatments once every two weeks. If my new growth is dry, I'll moisturze with Carol's Daughter M. Magic. Which works very well for relaxed hair.

Shampoo every week w/Elucence Moisture Balance Shampoo or Lanza Protein Plus

Creamy Protein w/heat weekly (my relaxed/color-treated hair can take more frequent use of protein)

Moisturizing Conditioner (various types) weekly w/heat

Hot Oil Treatment at least once a month

ACV Rinse after every or every other shampoo

Alternate air-drying (either ponytail method or twist-outs) with rollersetting in colder months.

Starting in May or June (until Sept.), strictly air-drying, and I will wash twice a week instead of once.

Relax/trim every 16 weeks using Affirm Mild No-Lye.

Touchup color every 13 weeks with Textures & Tones Bronze.

I did this regimen all through 2003 and it has worked well for me, so I will stick with it!!
