Possible idea to prevent double processing when relaxing

OK, I don't self-relax and have never tried this idea that just popped into my head, but I wanted to share anyway. Next time when you relax, make several mini ponytails using those Goody's ouchless bands in the same manner that you might when doing a ponytail rollerset, except the ponytail holders are to be placed and secured right where your newgrowth stops and previously relaxed hair begins. That way, you would ABSOLUTELY know that you aren't double processing b/c you would feel yourself hitting the band as you put the perm in and would know not to go beyond that. Also, for the perm-happy hairdressers who love to slather perm all over your entire head and never heed your instructions to just get the new growth, you could go to the salon with the ponytail holders already in place and tell her only to put relaxer on the strands proximal to the band. Then, just remove the bands when it's time to rinse and neutralize. OK, so someone try it and see if it works! I'm stretching so wont' be able to even try for another 6 weeks.

Yeah, I have been posting about this for some time now. I do it exactly as you stated and it works wonderfully. It was a modified version of baglady's method.

In the past, I put vaseline on my permed hair and scalp to prevent over processing.

Didn't mean to steal the idea :) . Well, I'm glad to know that it works. I've never seen any posts about it on the forum before.
