Poofy Hair

My hair is poofing badly....and nothing seems to keep it down. I sleep with a silky like scarf at night and it's okay 1st thing in the morning but 20 minutes later poof. It's fine the 1st few days after I flat iron but I like to limit my heat use to once a week.

Things I've tried
Giovanni magnetic gel
QB amla heavy cream
Jane Carter conditioner/sculpt or wrap and roll.

Do you wrap your hair at night? I found that wrapping, when I was relaxed, really kept my hair smooth and straight. The other thing might be how you style your hair from wet to dry. Are you roller setting, flat ironing, air drying? The way you initially style it might also contribute to poofiness. Also, is there a lot of humidity where you are? That might also contribute to puffiness. At any rate, I've found that flat ironing and wrapping my hair when I was relaxed used to keep it really smooth. HTH

Thanks for answering!

I'm transitioning right now. I have a sew.-in but the left out hair is what is poofing. Right after I wash I put in my leave in(QB olive cream detangler) and sit under the dryer. Afterwards I flat iron. At night I sleep with my scarf.
