what is pomade and what is its purpose?

I personally use Paul Mitchell's Pomade to tame "cow licks." It keeps shorter hairs at the top of my head from sticking up. That's the only thing that I use it for.

I use sebastians molding mud on my edges. Pomade is sort of like wax, some are very thick and some like molding mud aren't very thick at all.

I use a product by Nexxus that's called Retexxtur Pomade. It's sort of like a creamy gel. It adds weight to my hair and helps it lay flat without frizzing.
