poll: do you use a clarifying shampoo?

I don't use a clarifying shampoo, but I wash with my shikakai bar once a month.

I do ... but I don't have a set schedule or anything. I play it by ear and only clarify after I've co-washed repeatedly with conditioners that contain a lot of cones.

I also have hard water and use cones so I clarify once a month. I use Redken Cleansing Cream but Aloe Rid is great also.

I think clarifying is necessary if you use leave-in products that aren't water soluble and have build up. I don't clarify because I don't use any leave-ins as I don't feel I need them when in braids or twists. And when wearing my hair out, I use S Curl which shampoos out with ease even with a moisturizing shampoo.

Since I'm currently taking weekly swim lessons, I've been clarifying once a week with Keracare 1st Lather.
