:lachen: When my hair was in pigtails they called me Pocahontas but my hair wasn't even that long...I guess to black people it was though:lachen:

One of my cousins got the Pocahantas thing a lot. I always got the Black Barbie thing... ever since all the way back in the early 80's.

That's my grandmother's nic name for me...Pocahontas. She always felt I look like an American Indian...So when my hair is in two braids she calls me that even more.

i get pocahontas where i work ..... i recently received a b day card from one of my co workers that began with "Dear Pocahontas." LOL........

I am called Pocahontas when I wear my hair down or in 2 braids all the time!.
as a matter of fact I was called Pocahontas today by 2 mexicans when I came out of the grocery store!

I call my niece that..her hair is waist length...I get called Black Ski Week Barbie...(that one pissed me off...all the Caucasian MD's I work with call me that when we went on a ski trip and I had my leather jacket with the furry stuff around the collar) At first I just kinda laughed it off..then it got annoying

Pocahontas, but it's a compliment, so I don't mind..haven't heard the Mochahontas before...

I got called Pocahantas once when I had my hair in a single french braid that hung to my bra strap. I was flattered. Pocahantas (at least the Disney version) is very beautiful.

My niece is 9 and she has long natural spiral curls that reach to her behind. I've call her Pocahontas from birth.
