I'm very interested to see what everyone uses. I've seen mostly EVOO.

If you don't mind please list what oils you use, where you buy them, and why you use them, and if you mix them with conditioners.

If this type of thread has already been made, please excuse the redundancy.

My current mix--which is proving very effective.
* Wild Growth Hair Oil (ingredients: jojoba, coconut, olive oil, iron, magnesium, calcium, inositol) + S-Curl + B&B Oil Moisturizer (castor oil, canola oil, glycerin, panthenol)

My prior mix (which was good, but I think I needed the glycerin element)
* Aphogee essential fatty acids oil concentrate (sesame oil, soybean oil, lecithin, vitamin e) + Carol's Daughter Some of Margurite's Magic (soy, corn, wheat germ, sweet almond oils, cocoa butter, shea butter, beeswax) + coconut oil.

This worked well in the winter.

I find these products at any BSS except carol;s daughter.

wonder 8, evoo, coconut oil, proclaim oil. i have them mixed in a spray bottle and in a pour bottle.

can be bought at sally's and the grocery store!!

I use:
Almond & sweet almond- when conditioning & in a spray mixture
coconut- sheen (will be mixing with my butters)
jojoba (will be mixing with my butters)
grapeseed-in a spray mixture & when conditioning
castor-to hopefully thicken my hair
soybean-mixed with creme moisturizer & hot oil treatments
and a blend by Africa's Best-mixed with creme moisturizer & hot oil treatments

Have not used- all for deep conditioning
Amla
Brahmi
Vatika

For growth:
evoo, carrot, peppermint, glover's "mane" medicated scalp oil, castor. It's really working too! I apply to my scalp every 2-3 days. I'm 8 weeks post with about 13+ weeks worth of newgrowth.

For moisture and Hot oil treatments:
Evoo (use in pre-poos with VO5/Suave Cond. and deep conditioners/cholestrols)
Organics Carrot (styling),
Hot 6 (mix with cond. sometimes for CWs)
Jojoba Hot Oil(mixed with evoo for pre-poos, hot treatments) have used for styling.
Wonder 8 Oil Mist

Spray bottle: evoo, hot 6, carrot and water (haven't used in a while though)

Pure oils I'm currently seeking to purchase:
coconut, jojoba and amla

Puritan's Pride has a buy 1 get 2 free sale. I got 3 16oz tubs of coconut oil for less that $20 including s&h. I also found coconut oil & amla oil @ an Indian store for $2 each.

Thanks for the info Mecca!

i use anything i can find in my cabinet. i have olive oil, ylang ylang, jojoba, coconut, sesame seed, aloe vera, wgho, honey, and maybe some of my deep conditioner or conditioner

I use a 50/50 mixture of evoo and Vitale mo' body essential oil mix.

Ingredients of the vitale oil:

Sesame Oil, Kukui Nut Oil, Wheat Germ Oil, Lanolin Oil, Sunflower Oil, Olive Oil, Mink Oil, Aloe Vera Oil, safflower Oil, Vitamin A, D and E

I do a pre-poo treatment before I wash my hair every 2 weeks. I wet my hair before applying it.

I use a mixture of EVOO, Hot 6 Oil, and Motions Salon Herbal Oil Sheen Spray

I use it because it smells good and leaves my hair really really soft afterwards

The amount of time I leave this mixture on my hair varies from 30 minutes to a few hours.

I didn't start doing pre-poo treatments until a couple of weeks ago after I got rid of that LeKair Cholesterol Plus JUNK. I'm glad I incorporated this treatment into my regime. :yep:

I used Hot 6 oil for my hot oil treatment last night. I dampened my hair with distilled water (hard water problem), massaged the oil into my hair, wrapped with a hot, wet towel, put the cap on, and sat under the dryer for 30 minutes. My hair feels so great!

I do this once a week as a pre-poo in an applicator bottle:

-1/3 EVOO
-1/3 Africa's Best Ultimate Herbal Oil
-1/3 Wild Growth Hair Oil

I may add a small amount of Dabur Vatika Oil too. I put it on dry hair and leave it on overnight. My hair feels great after shampooing.

I use Emami Alma plus herbal hair oil for my pre-poo/hot oil treatment. I soak my hair with it and then I cover my hair with my plastic cap and let it stay on my hair overnight. The following day I wash my hair to remove the excess oil, shampoo and condition and then I do a deep conditioner under my dryer. After all this good stuff my hair is super soft and moisturized.

Hard water problem is right!!!! Y'all still have that problem in Philly?? When I went to Temple, that water tore my skin up!!

My mixture is Sage, Rosemary, Lavender, Olive Oil, WGO oil. I use it on my face, on my scalp, and for my ends. It smells good too!!
