Please pray for Peace in my Apt

Ladies,

I need your help! I need you to please pray for peace in my apartment. I've been having lots of trouble with my upstairs neighbor. She's in an abusive relationship with her daughter's father which causes her to take it out on the little girl and they fight A LOT! The noise resulting from their fights and their unhealthy living is UNBEARABLE and often keeps me up at night and then wakes me up early in the morning.

I've prayed and prayed and the situation gets better and then gets bad again each time being worse than the previous time. This weekend the cops had to get involved and my super just told me this morning that he heard the cops tell her that they will break down my door and take my radio if they have to. You see, the only way I can have peace in my apartment is to play gospel music when they are fighting. My favorite song to play is "Out My House" by CeCe Winans. It's all about telling the enemy to get out your home. Perfect song for me to play right? Well my neighbor HATES it. She gets very angry when I play it, hence the cops getting involved this weekend.

I believe God is working it out but it was placed in my heart that a collective prayer needs to go up to God. I'm asking you to unite with me and send a prayer up to God for my situation. I refuse to have my door knocked down by the cops and I refuse to be arrested and go to jail for anyone or anything. My neighbor is white and I'm black which is causing a bad situation with the cops who of course are white. But, God is above all of this. I refuse to believe that he would let one of his people go to jail or be evicted over a situation the enemy is creating.

I am fully aware that my super who loves to gossip could've been exaggerating but it's still an uneasy feeling to think of the cops breaking down your door, especially to take my little 'ole ihome. I mean it's not even a huge sound system :wallbash:.

I've been praying about this for over a year so ladies please join with me and let's take the enemy down. There is power in numbers! TIA!

Sis. keeping you in my prayers.

We declare and decree that the cops will not bust open your door...'No weapon formed against you shall prosper.'

I stand in agreement that peace will reign in your apartment in the name of Jesus. And justice will be served rightfully.

Amen.

(((Hugs)))) for you...:bighug:

Hi Sweetie, I'm sorry about the problems in your home environment. My prayer is for you to have a peaceable habitation (Psalm 16) even if you have to move. I pray God's favor and blessing over you, as well as His peace and safety.

In the meantime, both you and your neighbor are breaking 'house rules' with the noise. Although her situation is definitely Volatile and life threatening, yet to play your music to 'get through' their fighting is not the answer. :nono: No babygirl, :hug2: you hve to do something more.

Sweetheart, Call the Police, before they kill each other or the child gets hurt. Your music isn't God's solution to this; instead it's a bandaide and the adhesive is not sticking. This situaltion needs police intervention and the intervention of Social Services as well as your building management.

Let's be real. In your home, your music is just that, 'Your Music'. But as it echo's into someone else's home or walls, it's noise, no matter how Gospel it is. It's just plain noise. I've had neighbors and friends who never understood this, but sounds outside of it's range of origin is simply noise in other areas. The accoustics are not equal and therefore create an irritating disturbance. Hence, your neighbor called the police on you. It's breaking the rules of your lease agreement. You would be better off, using headphones.

As for your neighbor, music can be replaced, but not a life. To have true peace, most definitely pray, but the law has to step in. This has gone on long enough. Your neighbors violence has to be reported before someone gets hurt.

Take care, babygirl.

Hugs and blessings to you... :Rose:

I co-sign with what's been said -- especially to call the police on your neighbor. I'll pray for you as well. I pray that God brings you peace. I pray that God takes care of this situation. I pray for that poor girl suffering from her mother's wrongly directed anger.

In the mean time, you can purchase earphones so that only you hear this music. Hopefully your device has a place to hook up the earphones?

God does not want you to war with your neighbor. We all have a responsibility to abide by His rules as well as the law.

Sorry that you've been experiencing this. I will continue praying for your situation because sleep is precious.

Thanks Shimmie. I have called the cops on them for fighting because I was concerned for there safety but they told the cops I was lying and then the cops told me that I could get in trouble for filing a false complaint. So I stopped calling for my own fear of getting in trouble. You know how it goes, if the guy doesn't leave any visible bruises then the cops can't do anything. So it was my word against theirs. They won and I looked like the crazy person. I don't know about you but I'm not interested in having the cops think I'm crazy. :nono:

As for the music, I didn't even own a radio until the building management suggested that I play loud music to filter out the noise. I'm not using the music as a bandaide. It's the only thing that gives me peace in my apartment. It's the only solution that has been give to me from the management thus far and I pay way too much money per month to walk around with headphones on my head. Plus I've tried that and I have to turn up the music too loud to cover their noise. It ends up hurting my eardrums.

My music isn't super loud. No one else in the building has complained about it. My neighbors response to the music is that she can make noise because she has a child but I shouldn't make noise because I don't have kids. So it's not my music that's really the issue. She's mad that her noise hasn't made me leave yet but I'm not moving until God tells me to.

Thanks for your advice but I guess I should've put in the original post that there's a lot more to the story. This has been going on for over a year.

I'm not breaking the law. The cops told me I have until 11pm at night to play my music. It was 7pm when they rang my doorbell. That's why I mentioned the difference in our races. I'm not one to use the excuse of racism but why are your ringing my bell at 7pm when I have till 11pm. In addition my music wasn't even loud at the time because I had a headache. The cops couldn't even tell I was playing music until I opened my door which is why the left me alone.

Ladies, please understand that I wouldn't be asking for prayer if I knew I was breaking the law. I know that God can't bless me while I'm doing wrong. I constantly pray for peace in my neighbor's home. As a matter of fact God has been answering because her boyfriend moved out. Now they only fight when he comes to see the girl. I also pray for the way the mother treats the girl but what else can I do? She's trying to turn the cops against me. I live in a nice building so it's hard for the cops to believe this stuff. I have to mind my own business at this point.

Sighhh... I just wanted a prayer for peace ladies. This situation is so much bigger than earphones, you can't even imagine. I would never put my personal business out in the open like this but it was in my heart to ask for a collective prayer and I was obedient to that. I will continue to pray on my own. Thank you.

I am sincerely sorry for misinterpreting the situation. My sincere apologies. I thought the cops were implying disturbance of peace with your music.

Also, please don't let my post make you feel like it was a mistake to ask for collective prayer. We're all praying for your situation. I misinterpreted your part in the situation. I understand how you feel and hope for nothing but peace for you, especially after dealing with this for almost a year. Sorry.

No worries Loolalooh. A wise person reminded me that the devil reads this forum as well. He knows how to mix up our words so that we misread each others posts. I'm not offended. Thank you so much for your prayers. The enemy hates when we pray in numbers because he knows it is powerful. Our prayers will surely send him back to his evil pit.

Read Psalm 91 aloud. I used to have drug dealers in an apt next to me. Have faith and stay strong.

I stand in agreement with this prayer. And I pray for the safety of that little girl. May the Lord comfort and protect her, in the name of Jesus.
