OK i know i wasnot suppose to do this but i went on relaxed again..but i dont think that it is the relaxer or how long of time i would leave the relaxer in...heres what i did...
1. applied protective(Affrim)
2. applied relaxer(affim mild)
3. rinsed relaxer
4. appiled V05 hot oil treatment for 1 minute
5. then rinsed V05 hot oil treatment
6. neutralized hair shampoo (affrim)
7. applied olive oil oil treatment with hair may.ORS
8. rinsed treatment
9. used Infusim leave in conditioner
10. blow dried and sprayed with Doo Gro Hair Glossifier
My hair was fine..then this morning i got up used the heated rollers it looked great but then when i combed in place...it still looked nappy at the ends the top is fine..while i rolled it i sprayed it with the Doo Groo Hair Glossifier...and before i even got outside it looked nappy...so now im starting to think that it maybe the heated rollers because of the steam that is drying to my hair...so im going to have to go look for my Hot n' Gold mini flat iron..my last one broke because i used it soo much...i like the mini flat iron because i was able to handle it better than the regular size one....
:scratchch: Hmmm, I'm not sure either.
Let's see, as far as applying a hot oil trtmt, I think it's best to neutralize first before applying hot oil. I know you only did it for one minute but Affirm even recommends to use the 5 n1 or Positive link, to normalize the hair first, then to neutralize. I know VO5 hotoil has other ingredients in, so it may not react well immediately after the relaxer is rinsed out.
Also, did you lightly shampoo your hair after applying the olive oil and mayo treatment. It's hard to rinse out olive oil.
Also, I didn't see anything about using a true Moisturizing conditioner, such as Kera Care Humecto, Humectress, etc. I think that ORS Mayo may have some protein in it and many recommend to wait at least 2 weeks before applying a heavy protein. (but I'm not sure if it's even a heavy protein.) I just know the ORS Mayo left my hair feeling very dry and not moisturized, so you may want to follow it with some moisturizing conditioner.
As far as the Hot steam rollers, I think it's possible the steam may be causing your hair to revert some and appear "nappier" than it really is.
I would also suggest relaxing the most resistant areas first. You may also benefit from a trim, to help with your ends.
As far as using a blowdryer and hot curlers/flat iron, along with grease, well I do it every 2 weeks with NO ill effects. My hair doesn't sizzle, because I don't apply alot of grease/oil. My hair is colored treated and really soaks up the oils. Anyway, I think as long as your hair is healthy without any damaged ends, it will be ok to use limited heat. Once or Twice every two weeks Only.
Okay, I know I've listed many suggestions. I hope one of them helps.
