Okay ladies I was a little apprehensive about posting this, but I desperately need your help.

I relaxed my hair some weeks ago, and I would like to stretch as long as possible. I just have a few questions:

1) In order to stretch your relaxer, how exactly are you moisturizing the new growth? I use a growth aid on my scalp, and I can't seem to find a good product to use just on the new growth. Do you know of a product that you can use on your entire head, or are you using one product on the new growth and another on the relaxed part? It seems there has to be some product that can do both, but I haven't found it yet. When I comb, I am losing hair from my new growth being so dry.

2) For those who co-wash in the evening more than once a week, how do you wear your hair to bed? I can't sleep in magnetic rollers like some of the ladies, and I can't see rollersetting more than once a week.

3) For those who co-wash in the morning how do you wear your hair to work? I would think I would have to wear it back, but how are you slicking your hair down before you go to work?

Sorry for the long post ladies, but I really need some help.

TIA.

well i can only answer #1 for u cuz i don't really co-wash like that.

but yes when i have ALOT of newgrowth. I i use different products on the ng and on the relaxed part. I typically use a braid spray (that's not too damping). on my ng only. then seal immediately afterwards. if my ng is really untamely..then i bring out the big guns (wave noveau). sometimes i'll apply it with my fingers or i'll mix it with a lil water and spray it on directly. it's really good at softening it.

i haven't found a product that i can use for both at one time tho:ohwell:

Asl Natural lady about her BT grease. Its great for NG and its a growth aid. I like it so far and it help soften up the NG so I don't have my hair getting tangled.

The first few weeks post I can use just my growth concoction and my NG is ok. However past about 6-7 weeks I use coconut oil on my NG with a heavier hand than the rest of my hair.

My NG tends to get really dry so I will also use Hollywood Beauty Olive oil cream hair dress.

I don't co wash during the week so I can't help with that part.

I can only help with #1.

Daily, I moisturize my ng and relaxed hair just as I would if I wasn't stretching. I don't go out of my way to treat the ng different, I think that's too much manipulation. On wash days, I poo, oil rinse, and apply conditioner liberally to my ng. I detangle using two different size shower combs (very wide tooth and wide tooth, if that makes sense). I only comb my hair on wash days. I detangle dry hair with shower comb and fingers before washing, then I make sure to comb out my hair well under the running water.

For the new growth I use coconut oil, castor oil or amla oil. I use th amla oil on the rest of my hair also too, to comat tangles. This really works.

If I co-wash at night sometimes I'll air dry or slick it back into a bun.

If I co-wash in the morning, it becomes a was n go day.

I just always use
John Frieda Frizz-eaze
Giovanni direct leave-in
Infusium 23
Garnier length and strength leave in and
the seal with coconut oil

when i started my first stretch: i used CARE FREE CURL GOLD but a lot of ladies like LUSTERS S-CURL as well. HTH

Thank you ladies.

I'm going to have to look into some of these tips because I have to do something !!!

I appreciate it.
