Piggyback Rollersets.....

This looks very interesting, and very time consuming. I'd like to see the end result (before going under the dryer), and how it looks when it's done.

There's no way I would ever do this.

How many rollers do you think you will need lonie? You'll be rolling hair all day.

Lol! You are so right, I was wondering if it could be done on say purple 2 inch (i think, or 1.5) rollers to create bigger waves... What do you think, would you try it?

I really don't see how they would fit on your head. Using three purple rollers instead of one? I have a hard enough time getting the rollers to fit on my head with a reg. rollerset.

If you try it do a "how to" in your fotki, if you find it easy enough, maybe I'll try it.

I'd love to see the end result also!! I'm sure it's really pretty!!

However, I don't think I will ever try this....shooo, I still can't get a regular ole rollerset down yet... :ohwell:

It looks very interesting and Lonei on your hair I betcha it would look fabulous! I'm going to try it when I have time. My hair is almost as long as yours, and I think it's all in the process of building like she said a pyramid effect with the rollers. When I try it I'm going to use probably 1 1/2" rollers and as it loosens it probably would be the actual look I'm looking for. Thanks for sharing this, I've already bookmarked it.

Does anyone know what kind of brush that is?
If anyone happens to contact her, also ask her what kind of setting/foam lotion she's using.

Is that video serious? Who has time. My stylist would be like "you must be crazy with all that hair"

There are electric waving irons that you can buy to achieve that same style. Grab some heat protectant and get to work.

It's a great way to get curly hair from a wet roller set using smaller rollers. It might take all day to set, but doesn't take all day to dry, because the entire length is divided between two or more rollers.

I did this a long time ago (pre-LHCF) so no pics.

BTW, here's the transcript of the video:
Hi! This is Liz Muller from Liz's Hair Design in Hollywood, Florida and now I am going to show you a different kind of hairstyle, roller set. That is done for kind of wavy, curly hair and sometimes you have seen Halle Berry wear this. Her hair is kind of like wavy and curly at the same time and the way you set this hair is actually by taking, first of all I am sorry about that, but you would also use a styling agent that has some kind of foam or body to style the hair and to keep the set in. You need this to keep the set really, really tight and neat. You are going to proceed to take piece of hair again; and you are going to take a small section like this, putting the roller close to the scalp, placing a pin like this here, placing another pin like this here; you are going to take that hair again and you are going to take another roller now and it is called piggy back. This is called a piggy back roller set and that is going to create that wave. Those two rollers like that are going to create a wave to the hair and that will style like this wavy look. Now you are going to take the end of this hair here and you are going to kind of clamp that up like that and it should look like this, like a little pyramid, piggyback.

Did anybody watch any of the other videos?

Did you see how many times she swiped that hot *** flat iron on ol girl hair? No heat protectant, no nothing!

ITA I want to see the end result, its kind if hard for me to imagine how it ends up...

See I use an electric waving iron as well but I wonder how it looks in the end and the difference. I wonder if I can find a stylist that does it because there's no way I have the patience to do this.

yeah i have a plug-in Babyliss wave tong. i used it when i was relaxed, it worked well.

You could also by "rollers" from the BSS that are shapped in that wave pattern. I have some back at home but I haven't used them.

Thanks Lonei for the link. She said is like Halle Berry's hair (or weave?) when she had those pretty waves going down her hair. This looks interesting but I know I would have to buy more rollers to try it.

In the past, someone on this board described a similar method using Caruso rollers for the same results. It would be much faster too on dry hair. I haven't tried that yet. :scratchch

Was it more wavy or more curly? What size were the rollers? How long did it last? Thanks
