Get out of my head....I was just wondering when someone was going to post a flexi-rod tutorial. Thanks a bunch......:p

Thanks for posting this! I'm thinking of trying these but I'm so style challenge. How do you maintain the style at night?

I do one of 2 things: I'll bend over so all hair is hanging down and then place satin cap over my hair while still in head down position or just tie the front down with scarf and tuck the rest under my satin cap.

Oh, you guys are very welcome!! I've learned so much from this forum so I'll pass on anything I can.

hey alexstin

i'm a bit new to this whole site..but you said password located in profile...but i cant find it.im being dumb..could you help??

Hey Alexstin,

Do you airdry or sit under a hooded dryer? When you set your hair on flexirods a few days after it's been washed (ie when it's dry), what do you apply, if anything, before setting?

MTIA!

I do either but usually I airdry(which takes about 8 hours). Yesterday I sat under the dryer for about 30 minutes on medium setting and then let it airdry until for another 8 hours.

Actually, now it probably takes longer to airdry completely. It used to take about 8 hours when my hair was between shoulder and armpit length.

For moisture, I'll appy either Jane Carter Solution Nourish & Shine or Scurl. Since Scurl is more watery I can't be heavy handed or I'll lose to much curl.

I used to only wash my hair 1x/week and I was able to wear my curls all week maybe refreshing once with my Nandi solar rollers(using on water dampened hair).

Okay I figured it out...I was trying to be lazy and just copy and paste the pw but I guess you have to TYPE it out for it to work :p

Thanks for putting the tutorial out there, your hair is really pretty. I used to put my hair in perm rods but had never tried flexi rods... when I take these braids down I wanna try it :)

I put two tracks in my hair that come to midback. I wanted to know what size rollers I should use for my flexi-rod set with this length hair? Also, with my real hair length which is BSL but about 1" from bsl in the very front (only a couple of strands though)

You might want to try the burgundy ones, they are huge!!! The blue ones may work for the brastrap sections.

This board has yet to let me down! I hope that one day that I too can provide tips, information and support to others as this board has done for this Newbie:p !

Love your style! It's so ironic that you posted this because I just used these yesterday.

I've had mine for while so they are broken down and don't want to work. I need to go get new ones. Not to be Debbie Downer but that is one drawback... however if they aren't in too bad of shape, you can still manipulate them to work.

I just did an Alexstin inspired flex-rod set a little while ago. Instead of doing them the way I normally do them, I used the method of tying down my hair in the front (I'm working with 12 weeks of newgrowth, here) and rolling the rest. Instead of using the big purple flexi-rods, I used some gray ones. My hair is still rolled up now and I plan on letting it airdry overnight. Hopefully it comes out lookin great tomorrow :)

Girl, I tie down the front too cause I'm too lazy to do my entire head.

Make sure you let us know how it turns out!:)

Thanks for the compliment! How long have you had your flexis? I figure they'll eventually wear out from the bending, but 18 months later and they're still going strong!;)
