PICS: Texlaxed ladies, I created a 'stretch' style

From the pic I've had my hair in 2 stand twists for 8 days and washed it once so far 3 days ago. With proper care, you could go 2-3 weeks before re-doing it. I'm also a tuff head 4B, my new growth could cut diamonds

Rather than me 'fight' against the texture of my hair during that long stretch, I've decided to give the kinky twists a break and ponytails cause too much tension, plus I get that not-so-sleek pony that doesn't look cute. So over the past week I've been experimenting.

I twisted my own hair in 2 strand twists and have been wearing it like that I even washed it pretty much with ease, with no problem, the daily products I use is Profectiv Breakfree and Elasta QP H-Two, and Mega-Tek on the scalp and the satin scarf to keep the hair looking neat.

Anyway I tried a new 'work style' I took about 10-12 sections of the twists put some breakfree on the hair (especially the ends) and misted it with the h-two and made bantu knots all over for de yardie dem 'chiney bumps' if you don't know what the bantus are. When that was done, sprayed my whole head with h-two, and the scalp too, and put on a scarf. Woke up undid all the bantu's pinned it up with some bobby pins and hey presto, had an off the face, cute curly updo for the day with no tension.

The plus side is with a curly style you can get away with it looking a little unkept kind of adds to the look of it, but as long as it looks moist and has some sheen as opposed to dry it's all good for a stretch.

I'm sure the results would yield great on natural hair or hair without being in 2 strand twists also. I'm going to try this at some point. There are other pics in my album.

Oh, that IS cute.

It works well on all lengths, too. :yep:

This style is really cute. I'm definitely going to try once I have enough hair...

Very Cute! I like it alot. :yep:
Your hair didn't frizz up while washing with the twists in??

i'm not tex'd but i sure do like this style LD.

It's beautiful!

It's very pretty. It might be something I try at some point. I'm so lazy when it comes to my hair, so seems this is just what I need.

Thank You

No not at all. The breakfree has some real 'slip' to it as you wash it out, I's so moisturising. I just washed it very lightly with a conditioning shampoo Softsheen breakthru (doesn't contain any sulfates) and dried it in a pony, Scrunched the water out and put some more breakfree on and put it in a pony with a scrunchie and out the scarf on to minimise frizz.

I love your stretch style! Thank you for sharing this. :)

Very cute!

My only issue with this style...besides being lazy and not wanting to twist my hair ever again (:look:) ... is the fact that my layers are a pain! I would not be able to gather all my hair like you have in that photo. I'd probably need 20 or so bobby pins.

This is really, really cute, I think I might just have to give this one a try - thank you for posting it!

Thanks for all the compliments ladies. Good luck if you decide to try it yourself at some point.
