I have this dryer and I love it. Since I decided to start rollersetting my hair and drying it under the dryer once a week, I wanted to get advice from you about what temperature you leave it on and how long you are under the dryer.

I wanted to leave it on the coolest temperature (20 degrees) but I do not have time right now, so it will be on 50 degrees for 20 minutes and then I will lower it to 20 degrees.

Have any of you used it at the really low temperatures? It works great at the 50 degrees or higher temperatures but I am trying to use less heat.

Any advice about this would be greatly appreciated.

I use mine between 40 and 50 and keep it at this temp for about 30 minutes. I then lower it to about 40 and finish drying it at that temperature.

I used it today on 40 or 50 -- I tried 60 but it was too hot and immediately had to turn it down -- and it took my hair only 20-30 minutes to dry! I wonder if this is because I have not used it since around October! Wow, it was so quick and my hair feels so nice. Such a good investment and has saved me thousands of dollars because I no longer need to go to the salon!

Question for you -- Is it possible to have it on cool or does it not have a cool setting? Maybe I will try this next week and see how long it takes my hair to dry.

This dryer is the best isn't it? I'm so glad I got it too.

Yep...I believe it's possible to have it on a cool setting. Just turn the knob all the way up near the blue area (yours has blue area doesn't it?). It should blow just cold air.

I got the Parlux 518, which used to be made by Pibbs. It doesn't get hot at all, which had ME heated when I first tried it. However, I realized that it gave off a lot of air and dried super fast. I dreaded letting my hair grow back out, because I used to sit under the dryer for 4+ hours. Now, just imagine trying to sit under a super hot dryer for that length of time.

I have learned that with regards to drying my hair, it's not the heat, but the amount of air flow, but of course using cool air will take longer.
