:hiya2:I am Natural with two distinct textures on my head: type 4a (halo) and 3c (middle/crown)

My intent is to maintain my thickness and to be able to manage the two textures (pics below) by texlaxing the halo (edges ear to ear and the nape) to resemble/match the crown/middle of my hair.

I was thinking, I may need to do a whole head virgin relaxer using Phyto (I or II not sure) pre-treated w/ pure SAA of course!!! Stretch. Then touch up just the new growth of the halo every 2 months and touch up the new growth of the middle and crown every 4 months. What do you think?:scratchch

Another thing. I am not sure if I should a) use Phyto II for less time or b) use Phyto I for more time.

I welcome all thoughts!

Thank you ALL in advance!!!!!!!!!!!! :notworthy:notworthy:bighug:

**BUMP**....and did u know that it costs $230.00+ to get ur phytorelaxer done professionally at the Phyto place.....lol

Hey...that was so nice of you to think of me! I am a phyto girl, but I couldn't texlax to save my life! Nope! I'm a relaxed straight kinda woman. My hair type is the same as yours, but in the exact opposite areas. I'm more 3c in a halo and 4a in the crown and top. Being that you are 4a around the halo, I would suggest using the Phyto II. You do run the risk of being very underprocessed with the Phyto I. I haven't tried it, but I have spoken with a few 4a's who have tried to make the switch and regretted it. Sareca would be your best guide for texlaxing with the phyto II. She does such an excellent job with it. Shoot her a PM...she's great at giving advice and she'll respond as soon as she gets it.

BTW, your hair is beautiful. Love the pics!

Awww, Thanks  Lavendar!!! I am in communication with Sareca in PM land (She's the best by the way:yep:)

Love *your* hair!!! I want to tame my edges but do not want to sacrifice my thickness. I did not know you relaxed straight. How do you maintain your thickness?

Dang, that's some nice progress girl.:yep:

*exiting now*

Thanks MonaLisa!!!! *wait* Come back in here and impart some Phyto wisdom, girl.

Do you use Phyto I or II? and What do you use after you rinse your phyto? Do you neutralize or add protein conditioner first?

Oh yeah...I follow the directions exactly...25 minutes from start to finish. I'm scared to texlax....afraid I'd mess my hair up and have 5 or 6 different textures.:nono: Girl...that thickness you see in my Nov pic is a result of my first ever 3-month stretch, which will be officially over this weekend. Lawd, I'm hanging on by a thread I tell ya!:lachen:

Is it going down this weekend? It looks good. Love the thickness!

Are you set on using Phyto? If so, I don't think I could be of any help because I've never used it and can't offer much advice. However, I could and would recommend ORS relaxer to texlax...but that's just because it worked well for me (I'm texturized not texlaxed).

Also, I'd do a strand test before applying it to your halo. You want to get the timing down and make sure you're prepared to wash and repeat each section --- unless you slap it on all at once. IDK, I'm very meticulous about things so it took me 2 hours to texturize my entire head. I needed to be sure I didn't make any mistakes and regret it because it came out too straight.

Thank you for responding!. . . Not opposed to any other relaxer. Just heard great things about using the pure silk amino acids with Phyto. Wanted to try it (minus their brand reconstructor).
Love how your hair turned out BTW:grin::grin:. Can't believe how consistent your curls came out!! . . .
I will definitely do the strand test to the halo. Glad you brought up 'applying in sections' . . . how are people making sure they do not get the other parts wet? What are the consequences of 'accidently' relaxing wet hair? I didn't want to take the chance that I relax on a section that got wet from rinsing a previous section and my hair break off later down the line (like when you/stylist presses or flat irons damp hair in a rush instead of making sure it's completely dry). Maybe I can do entire head in 2 days.

I appreciate everyone's input. Thank you!!!

Thanks for the compliment. :)

To answer your question, I used scrunchies and clips to keep my sections separate. Also, I worked in about 5 large sections, but each one of those large ones I broke down into 2 smaller ones. After each one was done I rinsed it out in the sink with my hands and a wash towel. Next I applied the neutralizing shampoo and just moved to the next section. Someone mentioned that they apply neutralizing shampoo to the hair that's been previously relaxed so I guess you could do that to your hair that you're not texlaxing so that it doesn't get on your strands.

I'm still learning so I'm sure someone can offer you more advice.

Wait, who told you I use Phyto? Phyto is the debil relaxer! Folks need to stop hyping it up!:wallbash:

*Shhh... I can't say that I use it publicly ...I'll PM you girl, we'll do our best to get you on the Phyto road the right way..... * :sekret:
