I'm trying 2 bun as a low mani style & have been baggying & wearing phony pony, but I hate it. I feel like everyone can tell even though I try my best 2 match my hair color & texture. Help please anyone!

Have you tried using braid hair instead? Those I feel are more realistic than phony ponies. Also perhaps look into the EPA Clip. I haven't tried it but I keep hearing good things about it.

I wear phony ponies. I just match up the colors best I can to my hair. It doesn't bother me that others can tell its phony. The first time I wore one though it felt awkward.

I'm used to wearing hair styles where people can tell its not my hair (like braids) so when I wear my phony bun it doesn't bother me. I just make sure it's a #2 like my hair, slick my hair back and use some bobby pins.

Thanks guys! Maybe I'll just get used 2 it. My DH absolutely hates fake hair so I guess it's him I'm really trying 2 win over. Will look into clips. With braid hair, how do I attach it?

This is a simple tutorial that I find helpful. Sometimes I use a hairnet to make it more secure. I'm sure if you search around youtube you may find different ways.

Also this clip gives the gist of how the UPA hair clip works. Once I can pony tail my hair without stress I'm thinking of getting one myself.

That is a GREAT video! ITA w/ using braid hair, it looks less plasticy. I do a version of the video, but just use one pack of braid hair.

OP, you will just use a scrunchy, or hairband to attach, and a few bobbie pins as needed. Watch the video that Frihzz linked, it will answer your questions.

This is what I use to create my classic bun:

I got it from Sallys they had black and brown and they came in two sizes.

I dose both my ponytail holder and the donut in oil. Pull my hair through and secure it around with a scrunchy. Its quick easy and most of all a very neat looking bun.

I found a phony puff in the kids section of my BSS by Isis. I bun under it and all my corworkers thinks its my hair bc its looks exactly like my puff. It was 8.99 I did chop it up and pull out some of the sprials so that it looked more natural.
