I need to give my hair a rest. I can't really afford a sew-in right now but i am interested in bunning my hair with a phony pony. The only problem is i don't know where to find 1 to match my texture. SO i ran across this thread on a google search and i found this http://www.longhaircareforum.com/archive/index.php/t-131346.html

Naturals talking about bunning with Kankelon hair so that is blends but i have NO clue how to go about even doing this. Does anyone do this? Please chime in because i am interested especially since this hair only cost $1.99 a pack...

I just posted a bun pic today in the natural formal/ professional hairstyles thread of a phony bun I made from an old curly wig (modu trading TM-162) I know nikstar's fotki has an example of her old phony bun made from some bohyme weaving hair. I'm sure that u will be able to find something. Good luck :)

Hey,

The hair I used for my phony bun is from www.femicollection.com, but I got it from my local BSS. I chose a natural texture (4a/4b) that came in a long piece. I braided it and secured the end with a black rubber band. I just put my hair in a ponytail and pinned the braid to my head and wound it around. There should be plenty of options for your texture. You may need some assistance matching your hair color or picking a texture that isn't too shiny or fake.

Here are some pics of my phony bun.
HTH!

I used to use one from ebonyline that matched my hair(4a) but they no longer do it. Seems like they just want to get rid of their stock of it - Newbornfree fancy Afro ds. If you do have a look at it, the model doesn't do it justice but when the shine goes, it really matched my hair.

I have been searching for months for a replacement but decided yesterday to go for this weft - MODEL MODEL INDIAN HUMAN HAIR WEAVE INDI AFRO by hairsisters.com and wrap it round my normal hair. Hoping it matches. A bit more expensive than what I'm used to but I wanted a good match.

hope this helps!

Member Ediese on her fotki has wrapped a weft round her hair. It looked good. It may be an option for you.
