Making my own phony pony...does anyone think this will work??

I'm considering making my own phony pony piece. Sometimes the phony ponys are too thick or the texture doesn't match...etc.

Any this is what I'm thinking of making:

Taking a track of hair and sewing it to a round ponytail holder or scrunchie about 1/2 -3/4 of the way around it (I would sew several pieces onto it until I have the desired thickness), leaving a piece of th ponytail hold not sewn with hair.

I would attach to my hair by wrapping it around with the ponytail holder part that is not sewn. My hair would be resting in the middle of this hair.

Anyone ever tried this or think it could work????

Sounds like a good idea...and more comfortable than wrapping the track around your ponytail and then pinning it.

Exactly!

And I think more natural looking than the giant phony pony, especially for a fine haired lady like me.

Please report back on how it turned out...

I found this link today while I was googling a way to cover elastic bands:

It is a kids project that uses yarn, but I think hair would work just as well. Let me know what you think.

Good idea! I'll have to try this. Phonytails hardly ever match my hair, but I can always find wefted hair that matches. Thanks!
