Permed Ladies, I Need Help!

After seeing how successful you ladies have been, I want to get more involved with my hair, plus hubby may be moving us to Oregon OMG!

My current regimen for the last 2 years is to go the the Dominican salon every 2 weeks for a rollerset/blow out roots, my relaxed hair is a mix of 3c/4a and I retouch every 6-8 weeks. I wrap at night, I don't use any type of products or moisturizer and I've gotten rid of my curling iron since the wrap seems to work out well in the AM. My hair has now grown past the perpetual shoulder length zone to APL and I don't want to ruin it.

I have never been able to do my hair so that it is soft moisturized and healthy. I don't own rollers, products, dryers etc... so if someone could start me off with something a beginner could do, maybe a pre-poo before going to the salon or tips on what I should buy? :perplexed
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks all!

Hi! Click on this. http://journals.fotki.com/dontspeakdefeat/newcomer/ It has a lot of info for newbies.

When I wash my hair I always prepoo because it prevents me from lossing a lot of hair when I wash. I use lacio lacio leave in conditoner. This helps my rollserset come out good. I also use magnetic rollers and a hooded dryer. A lot of people here like the pibbs dryer.

You should definitely get a water based mositurizer. I use wave nouveau moisturizing lotion because I doesn't weight my hair down too much. And I seal with castor oil to keep the moisture in my hair.

Macherieamour has a DVD out for rollersetting.
Her blog is www.healthytextures.com. You can find a lot of information there about managing your hair at home. HTH!
