Permanent Color Or Henna??

Okay, I have a texturizer and I'd like to color my hair. I'm looking to go golden brown, but I'm not sure what to use. Has anyone tried henna to achieve their color, if so, what was your experience?. If you do use permanent, what was that experience?

henna won't lighten your hair, and it usually colors red or dark brown. I've used henna on my texturized hair with no ill effects; I ended up with red highlights.
