how did you prep your skin for your wedding day?

i would love to go vegetarian or totally raw for 6 months to get the glow but that would take BRUTE will power.

As a makeup artist, I freelanced many weddings, and I can tell you that glow can easily be created with product.

If you go vegan, that's great, you'll fit into your dress, but it may or may not impact your face...stress may wear you out and have your hormones jumping a week before your wedding negating everything. Also 6 months in advance if you really didn't want to do it may have you binging on bad things before your event.

Find a great makeup artist, and start cleansing inside and out 1 month to 3 weeks before your wedding date.

Masks to detox your face should be done weeks in advance to alleviate allergic reactions or adverse effects.

Detoxing your insides and proper nutrition at this time will make you glow as well...

My wedding is in less than 5 months. I've gotten some acne medication and hydroquinone from a derm.

I started limiting my sweets. Plan on doing a 3 day raw food cleanse, green smoothies, green/red tea, get more sleep, lemon water in the am, omega 3 acids, and monthly facials. I have acne and I'm trying my best to control that. I also need to start limiting dairy and alcohol.

I would say at the minimum a clean diet, facials, exfoliate and sufficient sleep will help but it depends on what skin problems you may have. I do agree the right makeup products can give you a glow.

My wedding is in 3 months! I'm about to start lactic acid peels. My dress has a corset top and my back will be showing and I want it baby smooth. So lactic acid peels every two weeks from now until couple weeks before wedding...hope that's not too much... :look:

I worked with a dermatologist to clear up existing hyperpigmentation and to decrease new acne breakouts. I also did a couple peels with my derm. Also, drinking water and staying away from refined sugars as much as possible would probably be a huge plus.

Starting about 4-5 months before my wedding, here's what I did. My skin was gorgeous on my wedding day, I heard from lots of people that I had "the glow"!

  • Monthly facials - used Aveda skin care line to avoid skin irritation
  • Drank lots of water
  • Got good sleep at night
  • Kept hair off my face, to avoid potential breakouts due to hair products
  • Exercised regularly (4-6x/week)
  • Took fish oil pills, ALA supplements
