Just wanted to say hi to all the ladies here. I have been lurking since January, and now I'm ready to participate in all the discussions! Just wanted to introduce myself!
I'm currently a 4a/texlaxed, very thick. Wore my hair in braids for about four years, but noticed a significant growth last year when I kept it in cornrows. I'm now at APL, but would like to see if I can make it to BSL or WL in the next few years.
The baggy method, coconut oil and cowashing have kept my hair sane during this time. I haven't been to a professional stylist in years, and was thinking about it. I shudder at my best friend's warning that, "They are going to cut your hair." I'd like to relax to the point that if I wanted to wear it straight it wouldn't be a nightmare, without giving up the natural wave pattern.
If anyone has any good LHCF stylists in the SF Bay area, let me know.
Staples: Pure unrefined coconut oil, crown and glory method, no heat, baggy, co-washing and protective styling.
