I was admonished by the wise BlackCardinal to do my duty as an LHCF member and give a thorough review of this product since no one else had...

So this summer, I wore my hair curly every day until a got a relaxer recently. The easiest way to handle this was the wash and go. However, I discovered that while my hair was stronger and more moisturized than ever, my scalp (particularly my nape area) was a little perturbed. The washing made it itchy. This weekend I did a marathon conditioning session. Nothing but time to pamper my hair. But that left me horrendously itchy, and the itch was spreading. Now, I noticed that this Tea Tree Conditioning Treatment I got from Proclaim soothed my scalp. So when I saw this Paul Mitchell conditioner, I figured it couldn't hurt to see if it helped.

WELL. When I first put it on, the tingling wasn't evident. But in about 30 seconds my scalp felt so amazing. Cool, tingling, refreshing, all of that. I was going to just leave it in for the course of the shower, but I decided the spa treatment should continue. So I left it on with a shower cap for about a half hour. The wonderful sensation didn't go away. I rinsed it out because I didn't want to undo the help to my scalp by over wetting it again. I sprayed in this Proclaim Tea Tree Leave-In (Diff. than the Conditioning Treatment). All through dinner, my scalp still felt all pepperminty. It was awesome!

But what did it do to my HAIR you ask? My hair was/is soo soft. It had a very nice slip so detangling was almost unnecessary. As my hair air dried, it didn't start to harden up or anything. My curls were downy soft (my hair's rather texlaxed). I put it in two buns and took them down this morning and the softness is still there. I wonder what this'd be like with heat... hmm...

This is a definite keeper for the arsenal. My scalp is still soothed and my hair feels great. What more can a girl ask for?

Here are the ingredients:

Thanks for the review. I have heard good things about the shampoo and conditioner.

When I used to get my hair done my stylist used to always use this and I never had any scalp problems.:yep:

I love this stuff! I bought the generic version @Sally's. It has the same effect.

I LOVE IT!

I have the generic too and it's great! I use it to clarify. I agree about the time factor. The bottle says leave on for 3 minutes, but I always leave it on at least 30 min.

This is good stuff!!!! I've used the poo & the con (trying to finish what I got) and I love them together! Hair feels clean but not stripped after these two. If I wasn't eliminating parabens from my beauty regimen, I would totally keep these!

I  both the shampoo and conditioner. These two together (or alone) will definitely leave your scalp tingling...:yep:

Since you guys said you used the Sally Generic brand and it worked great, I went to Sally's today to check out the ingredients and they're exactly the same. I would've bought a bunch right then, but I maya sorta kinda stretched my hair fund a little too far recently. :look: Self-control reigned for the moment. But when I get back to school and have used up what I've got, I'm going to give the Sally's version a spin. If it works the same, that'll save a looot of money.

hmmm....I was eyeing the paul mitchell tea tree line at Long's yesterday. This review is good info to know.....**restraint starts to slip away**

same here! I have tea tree eo. I have to mix it w/ other eo's and of course a carrier oil, but it's the bomb for any itch issue. Shoot w/ peppermint eo, mixed w/ shea or coconut oil, I adore it! It's like a scalp massage:D

I love this stuff soooooo much, I had to spank this post twice *spat* *spat*

Oh snap divine! why you have to bring up those parabens for my favorite product????? lol

I happened to have some Tea Tree EO stored away that I'd never used. I used it last night in a leave-in concoction and my scalp tingled. I may start adding a little to my regular conditioners to keep the itchies away even when I'm not giving my head a Paul Mitchell spa treatment. Just a little, though, cause I'm not a fan of the smell. The Paul Mitchell conditioner still smells great, though. Maybe it's the peppermint.

I'm glad I'm not the only one!

Wow, this thread is old, but I'm glad you pulled it up! I was looking for information on this product last week.

Last Wednesday I tried a packet of the Tea Tree Oil treatment, and it is as amazing as they said. I loved it!!! My hair felt wonderful, detangling was a breeze and the smell was great! I sat under the dryer for a while with it in, I don't know how long...an episode and a half of King of Queens (?) :spinning:

I only bought a sample pack in case I didn't like it, but I can't wait to go back for more. This will become a staple!

I've yet to meet a JPM product I didn't like!
