Where do you part your hair?

I part to the left. It's funny everytime I go get my hair done, they always want to part it to the right.

No thinning and I have been wearing it like this for as long as I can remember.

I have a natural part down the middle that I did not even know was there. I had been wearing weaves and braids for so long that I thught something was wrong up there. But, I realize now that it is just naturally there.
I think I have a natural part down the middle too. Whenever I wash my hair, it automatically parts down the middle. And I agree that it's a hassle to part diagonal on the right or left, especially with natural hair.

My hairline is heartshaped so I always part to the left or right (like in Avatar). My hair naturally parts on the middle, but there won't be no middle parting going on here until I get some more edges! Otherwise I look like Magneto!:lachen:

:ohwell: The funny thing is, in real life HE rocks the side part too! (He's the cooles bad guy ever! For some reason that movie makes me want to be a mutant:look: )

I used to part my hair down the middle til I started losing my hair on the top of my head (not from the part itself but bad perms and too tight phony ponytails  ) Now I like my hair parted on the left side, it's a nice look on me.

me too!! although some would say that part was "trained" there. I have wondered about this for some time. My parents would fix my hair in a part all thru elementary skool and this may have "trained" that part right in,, who knows??

I try to switch it up to avoid thinner hair, but I like to part my hair on the right side, either curved or straight. Sometimes I switch it to the left for a change. I also do diagonal parts from left to right or vice versa. I'm still trying to do a decent zig-zag part.

When my widow's peak fills in, I'll try a center part or no part at all to see how it looks.

When I used to heat-style, my part was always off-center to the left and I always had to do it myself because the stylist could never get my perfect slant. Now that I don't heat-style as much, I don't part my hair. I know I have one of those faces where a middle part would be a crime.

I can't say my right-side parting has caused any thinning over the years, but I have noticed several SILVER STRANDS in that area.  :look:

I haven't side-parted my hair recently (wearing phoney ponies), but those greys have all radiated out of the place where I side-parted my hair for years and years before. I actually don't mind the greys because I think they're lovely (I guess I can say that at 27 years :lachen:), but it could be a possible side-effect from parting? Maybe?

But, when I get my hair a little bit longer in the front, I plan on center-parting my hair if I wear it down, and side-parting if I wear it up to show off my greys!!!! :D

Left part throughout the years and yes it thinned considerably. :( I try to switch up the parts frequently now.

After washing my hair and styling, my part usually is in the middle for a few days. But I do switch it up, occasionally I'll part on the left or do the Angelina Jolie thing and wear no part at all.

I normally wear the side part like Sistaslick my forehead is just to big  to look right with a middle part although I have wor. I also alternate sides every so often. I have not noticed any thinning so far.

I wear a middle part that never really goes away. I dont notice any thinning, but sistaslick has me scurred, talking about her MIL's part.

My hair wants to part in the middle but I prefer the side. I used to be into really perfect parts but now I just run my fingers through my hair in the direction that I want it to go.

I part my hair on the right, I read somewhere that a part on either side makes a big head look smaller. If you have a round face you are supposed to do a side part, not sure if I notice too much difference, it's just a habit now.

I can't remember which side they advocate for growth either:lol: oh well! I alternate my parts every other week just to prevent any type of damage.

I can't pull off a middle part, especially if I am in a bun. Its looks kinda okay when my hair is down, but my face shape and huge forehead do not look cute with middle part:ohwell:

yup, this is the reason middle parts don't work for me either, lol. I part on the left, I haven't noticed any difference, any thinning or anything. But I don't part that much, I usually just comb it all back.

I swithc it up, some days side some days middle, some days straight back. Depend on the look I'm going for. But in high school I only wore it on the left, and I had no thinning that I saw.

I have to try that. I've been told I have a lollipop head

My part is on the right. I tried a left part once, and it just didn't look right at all. My forhead isn't huge, but it's too big for a middle part. I tried that before too. Not cute. So, I'm stuck with a right part, or I just comb all of my hair straight back.

I haven't noticed and extra growth or breakage or anything....

I haven't voted yet because I kind of alternate. After a relaxer and my hair isn't too poofy, I'll go to the side. I switch to middle part when things start getting scary and big.

I downloaded these one day when reseaching hairstyles/parting alternatives for my bun do.

I left part when wearing hair down/straight and I center part when wearing hair curly or bunning. (I have begun to notice some thinning of my center part though:ohwell: I think the pull from the bun may be causing it:nono:) Since I'm wearing half wigs, I'm trying to comb my hair straight back to reduce the stress on that area.

I've tried wearing a part on the right and it looks absolutely awful!
