Tracy,
Was it you that had the good suggestion about something that thickens your hair at the root-was it silica? I also have fine hair and I thought I remembered seeing you post your regime. Let me know and thanks a bunch. Also, have you noticed any good results with your thickening regime?

I'm not Tracy, and I'm sure she will give you more info, but I believe that would be B-5. I've been taking it for 2 months in additon to the b-complex and my roots do appear and feel thicker. Hope this helps.

BRH is correct and so is cleo. It was the B5 (which you will find in stores as 'Pantothenic Acid') that thickened my hair so nicely. I have even had people ask me how I could have ever thought my hair was was thin since seeing my recent pics - much to my glee! /images/graemlins/wink.gif But it was, indeed, thin before. Painfully so. See through even. It's still fine - but no longer thin. Pantothenic Acid has revolutionized the look and feel of my hair from the inside out over time. I recommend it highly.

Same dosages as BRH gave you. That's what I have always taken.

does the B5 give the illusion that the whole hair shaft is thicker, or just the new growth? I would love to take it but I don't want what I already have to look thinner in comparison with the thicker new growth.

Does that make sense?

Thanks a bunch Miss T. I will be purchasing a bottle soon-any brand recommendations? Oh, do you also take the 500 mg dosage both am and pm? Give me all the details and thanks again.

It is the newgrowth that thickens first LD...but my roots never thickened so rapidly and so noticeably during the process of my growing thicker hair that the ends looked thinner in comparison to the rest. I noticed my roots coming in thcker at first, which lent a certain appearance of fullness to all of my hair and after about a year and a half of taking it semi-consistently, most of the length of my hair had clearly become thicker as the "roots" became "length". I still had some of the hair that previously considered thin left on my ends, I'm sure, but - and I know this doesn't make sense, but ask anyone else that has taken this for a while and I'm sure they'll say the same - though my hair is noticeably thicker now, there was never a noticable difference in the non-B5 fortified hair, from the B5 fortified hair as it continued to grow. /images/graemlins/grin.gif

Try it. I think you'll be pleasantly suprised.

Scorpio,

You are so welcome and I hope it works as well for you as it did me! I take 1000mgs, but I dont take the split dose that I recommend of 500 and 500 because if I split my vitamin dosages I'd forget to take them all. I recommend that dose because that was what was recommended to me by our famous Jade whom we treasure, /images/graemlins/wink.gif . I take everything at once because I like to get it out of the way, and that's the only way I'll remember to take them at all. /images/graemlins/tongue.gif I have used Twinlab and Solgar brands for the entire 3 or so years I've taken this supplement, in 500mg. capsules - both of which I purchased at the Vitamin Shoppe in person or online. Twinlab is also available in some drugstores.
