Hi there, i hope you don't mind me publicly naming you. I was reading a thread a while ago about you having success with silica softening your texture. how long did it take before you noticed a change to your regrowth? i'm currently taking msm and would like to enhance the effects of it, i've seen some improvements in isolated spots on my head especially the looser texture seems to have more definition and shine. my 4a areas at the front grows much slower so i'm unable to see results as yet i do hope that its helps to with the sheen and softness. do you think silica is worth a try and could you give me a name brand and the amounts you take....Are you still going to transition? or stay texturized? thanks in advance

Re: Paging Dahomeyahosi

Hey Denise! When I made that post I didn't know much about hair types which I think or at least hope I later posted in the same thread. I was taking GNC silica capsules for about a year and a half but have since stopped. Unfortunately I can't remember how much I was taking in terms of mg but it was 2 capsules per day. Why did I stop? I started up with MTG which gives similar results so I'll assume sulfur and silica have similar affects on changing texture but I didn't get these results by taking MSM internally as you have. I will think about going natural again after I get to waistlength. I am too vain to cut my hair off or go through a long transition right now.

Thanks for responding. i'm thinking of buying some organic horsetail tea instead, do you think this is potent enough? your hair is beautiful either way whether natural or relaxed. thanks again for your help

Re: Paging Dahomeyahosi

Thanks for your compliment Den. My friend told me that taking herbs directly through tea is better than through capsules and she knows much better than me. She is Chinese and that's the way she says they do it traditionally to cure illness rather than taking them in pill form. So yes I'd say go for the tea.

Thanks very much for the encouragement and advice.
