hey carmen,

today is my day off. so i decided to deeeeeep condition my hair.
i did not have enough olive oil left so i just added some vegetable oil to it (it says on the bottle as the only ingredient:soybeanoil). then i wanted to try what you mentioned in another thread about the honey. so i added some honey. then i warmed it in the micro in a little bowl.
i then just comb my hair over my head and dip the length of my hair in the bowl. due to the honey the mixture was kinda hard or sugary. i left it in for about 1 1/2 hours. then washed it out. then i used some conditioner on the length of my hair (remember when i told you that i wanted to try this?) then washed my hair, but only the hair that was not covered with conditioner. then i rinsed. right now i have cholesterol on my hair and i will leave it on there for as long as possible (maybe 3 hours or so). i think this is pretty good. i really want to do more conditioning and prevent my hair from breaking and split ends. i think the longer your hair is the more gentle you have to be.
i will let you know how it turned out.

Hey Nay,

Glad to hear from you. Please let me know how that works out for you. I was up late reading online last night and I found a site for long hair that really stressed the importance of taking care of long hair, the longer it is. Though the site didn't cater to women of color (so some of its advice wouldn't work on our hair), the women did offer good advice and had ultra-long hair.

Anyway, my hair came out really good. I applied the honey and olive oil to my scalp and ends only. I also used Dax's vegetable oil shampoo (a very gentle clarifying shampoo, gets rid of all the dirt in one wash) and Aphogee's shampoo for damaged hair. I really liked this shampoo. The fragrance isn't the best, but it really worked well with my hair. /images/graemlins/smile.gif I washed my hair a total of 3 times. Then I followed that up with Motions CPR and Moisture Plus conditioners. I did a roller set with Infusium 23 and sat under a hooded dryer.

The hot oil was 20 min., CPR =25 min. and MP =15 min. My hair was really moisturized and I had only a few strands come out. I am definitely sticking with this..(So glad I found a regimen now) /images/graemlins/smile.gif

Hey Nay,

Actually, I used to use a hot oil treatment by Gold Medal. It's called Scalp Therapy. It was a mixture of many essential oils such as almond oil, wheatgerm oil, rosemary extract etc. It was really good. I think that was really good for hair.

It can be found at www.goldmedalhair.com. Some people don't like GM products, but I did and plan to order them again soon.

Your hair is so lovely, you hardly need that stuff. /images/graemlins/wink.gif
