Hi Ballet_Bun! I use "beautiful beginings" no lye child relaxer. I leave it for 10 minute and it works for me so why change. I like it, and since I relax my own hair it is safer. I don't want to try a lye relaxer by myself and loose all my hair if something goes wrong!
Sincerely
Zanna

August 2003 feature

I haven't been doing much to my hair at all. I've found that the less I mess with it, the more it seems to thrive (nape area is past bra strap now). Most of the time I wear it in a clip, with the ends tucked under. Usually I'll add castor oil or another heavy oil to the ends before I pin it up. Now I only shampoo once a week (in two sections) and do a conditioner wash between shampoos. Also put hair in a silk scrunchie before tying up at night or even laying around the house. Lastly, (Thanks Adrienne for the tip) I only brush and dampen hair that is smoothed into clip or ponytail, and leave the hair that's in the clip untouched. In other words, when I wear my hair up, only the first 6 inches has been manipulated and treated to wax and gel (to keep it down). I've been trying to use up my hair products, but since I do less to my hair I have been using less products. Oh well. I slacked off on my vitamins for a while but am now taking my same multivitamin and Kal Silica Plus at least once a day. I plan to get a trim in the fall, probably around Thanksgiving.
