Oyin's Greg Juice???

I want to get some of this for my FI's locs. Does anyone use this? Can you give me a quick review, I've already read the reviews on the Oyin site, but I wanted to know if any of my hairbuddies had tried it.

Thanks in advance

Never have, but if you do give me a review because the DH needs another product, IMO, for his locs. We use the the ORS Shea Butter for his locs. He loves that stuff though.

Hi Ms_kenesha,

I didn't like it! It left my hair feeling weird. It just didn't do anything for me.
I hope that helps

Thanks Bri.

It didn't moisturize? I want something he can spray on them for moisture because he has a dry scalp. And it would be easier than me applying the jojoba with the nozzle, yes I get lazy sometimes  and I'd like something that he could do on his own sometimes.

How do you use the ORS, as a moisturizer to his hair or scalp? What kind of other product do you want for his locs? Can you give me his loc routine, I'll love you FOREVER!

Uh, he'll never do it on his own, believe me. The shea butter has the nozzle top and although the DH will put it on his hair, I still get the "pleasure" to use it for his scalp. So, just get used to is girlie! :lachen:

I don't have locs but I liked it for moisturization. The whipped pudding is better though but I'm sure it would be a pain to get through every individual loc. :)

We use it on his scalp and hair. His hair is REALLY dry and because he works in a warehouse his hair is always exposed to the elements. He really likes it and finds it very moisturizing for his locs. It really does what is says in that it penetrates the locs. His hair sucks it up, but there is shine left too.

I like it too, but I was trying to get something that is more beneficial for his scalp and thinning areas. However, the DH will not use anything that doesn't come from a store and purchased. I have gotten over before, like I put my oil mix in a container from something I already had so he thought it was that oil that I did a hot oil treatment on his hair with.

I think I will just add a few eo's to the shea butter stuff and he will be none the wiser.

As for his routine, it depends on how I am feeling. :lachen: I have the task of being the hair care person in the house. So I shampoo his locs every 3 weeks (sometimes 4). I am trying to get him to let me do pre-poos, but he says "My hair is dirty, let me wash it first" So I shampoo with nexxus therappe and the last time I applied my castor oil mix to his scalp and hair and put a plastic cap and saran wrap on his head (He hates the dryer). So I left that on for like 30 mins (he was complaining) and did a quick rinse and light shampoo. (Although he really wanted me to shampoo really good to get the oil out.

I used to get to put conditioner, but he really doesn't think he needs it.

So I try to sneak leave-ins on his hair. Girl, I am telling you he is picky about what goes on his hair and thinks I am crazy for putting stuff on his hair. So after I put a leave-in on, I use a little Murray's Black Beeswax

mixed with this loc butter (that I can't remember the name of right now). I palm roll them all to the right and use metal clips to hold them in place. Then he goes under the dryer for 20 minutes (on a good day).

Your hubby sounds like my FI. He doesn't like to try weird stuff, he gets "mad" if oil runs down his face and says I'm trying to drown him and make him breakout  I was thinking about using Elasta QP H-Two, but if it doesn't say for Locs I'm afraid he won't use it.

 at you sneaking stuff in different bottles. I don't twist his locs, he gets that done every 2-3 weeks at a natural hair salon, but his is done to the right, too. I used to twist his hair when he had his hair out, though. At least you got him to do the oil and the plastic cap.

Thanks for the routine, maybe we can incorporate some of this into his routine. :)

Girl, getting to use the H-Two was like pulling teeth. I was like "Babe, I want to put this leave-in on your hair" Girl, the questions came like those from a 2-year-old. "Why? What for? What's it going to do? Is it for locs?"
27.gif
This is the main reason I just sneak stuff, don't have time to answer all the questions  I don't even try the H-two anymore. I just go in the bathroom and come back with some cream leave-in in my hand and rub my hands through his head. It helps that he is usually playing a video game when I am re-twisting so he is pre-occupied.

Your FI may like the ORS Shea Butter as it states it is for locs on the bottle and does an excellent job, IMO, for moisturizing the locs.

They must be seperated at birth. Oyin has some new products you might like for hubby. I'm 'bout to start a post. :)

I love greg juice for my natural hair. It's a great detangler/leave-in and it has a nice smell.

As for locks, Jamyla the owner of Oyin actually created Greg Juice for her cousin (Greg) and he has locks and has had great success with it. I believe her sisters who have locks use Greg juice also.

So it would work dandy with your Fi's locks.

Thanks Ebony
