Out of Lurking-- My Growth Progress

Awwwhh thanks ladies for your encourging words! I have learned so much from everyone since joining this site.
I try to keep my regime pretty simple.
Every six to eight weeks I take down my weave, detangle, wash, deep condition, dust my ends ( as needed)then reinstall later that evening.
In between installs I wash and deep condition my hair twice weekly using Aubrey Organics Honey Suckle Rose Sampoo and ORS Replinishing Deep Conditioner. I use a bottle with a nozzle to get in between the braids to ensure I don’t have any build up from conditioner residue.
As for moisturizing—I do so daily with ORS Shea Butter Softening Hair & Scalp Lotion. It’s very light and literally feels like spraying water on my scalp. I then seal with either cocunut oil or ORS anti-itch scalp oil.
Net/Net, I think the combination of protetive styling and my weekly regime has helped improve the condition of my overall hair and maximize retention

Your hair looks great! How long did it take you to get to that length?

Thanks so much! The first picture was in late December, the last two at the end of August just before my September install. So roughly 8 months of growth.

Thanks, girl. I just meant how long did it take to grow to that length from scratch/your BC?

Just curious b/c I think we're hair twins and I'm 7 months post right now - hard to tell how long my hair is as I haven't straightened recently. Do you know how long your hair is straightened btw?

That's a good question, its hard to pinpoint the exact timing. I trimmed the relaxed ends off bit by bit instead of doing the actual big chop. So if I had to guess I would say it took me approximately 6 to 8 months to get to the length in the first picture, which is when I could finally claim I was natural ( except my edges of course)

I still have not straightened my hair just yet, I am waiting for my one year anniversary.

Happy growing!
