I was wondering if where the pony tail is do you find that you have damaged hair around the ponytail band.

I noticed last night that a few strands had a bent looking split where the hairband was :perplexed

Also sometimes if I remember I soak the band in Olive oil but too be honest I do forget alot of the time :look:

Have you ladies got any suggestions? PLEASE :)

sadly i experienced this too with ouchless bands. u see where the two side joins? like where the glue is? well i used to get hair pulled out for joke with those supposed "ouchless" bands!!! i now just stick the good old cotton scrunchies (big ones..wrapped round pony tail twice - great when they slacken up) or even the tiny ones and just put that on my pony and dont wrap it round just leave it how it is. There was some rant a few years ago about these bands causing dryness...but this will only happen if ur hair is dry to begin with. just make sure u focus on where the band meets round the hair with water/moisturizer and oil..(if thats what u use - thats what i use - but obviously u have ur regime) and u will be fine! those ouchless bands r bad 2 me i hate them now! so expensive too.

You can still find tiny cotton scrunchies? I wish I could--they are great for my wet puffs.

My daughter's hair suffered some breakage from those bands when she wore puffs over the summer
I had to put more protein in her hair regimen because her hair was too soft and the tension from the wet puff and the band caused some broken spots
Now that her protein, moisture balance hs been corrected and her hair is strong if I use the bands I roll them in a jar of grease first(royal crown) and then put them on her hair. The grease puts a protective coating between her hair and the band.this has really helped.

they are! they are great for my wet airdrying hair. no tension but firm hold!

I can't use those things. They rip my hair. I use satin scrunchies for ponytails. If I can't find those, I use the cotton ones. :)

I had this problem as well and I stopped using scrunchies and barretts ever since. I always wondered why the hair in the front would never grow longer and I realized those end hairs were being pulled when I tied it back with the scrunchy. I've been using banana clips ever since and will see how well my hair does over time.

I know what you mean. My hair was constantly coming out and I did not know why. I am going to throw those darn scrunchies away!! Off to get the cotton ones.
