I'm looking through reviews and people were leaving this on for 30 minutes. Is that necessary? I've never left a relaxer in for more than 20 minutes.

It's not necessary. I've left relaxer on for 30 minutes before and my hair was fine. Now, is it something I would do again? No ma'am. My hair is resistant so that's why it was left for that long at the time. My typical time now is 20-25 minutes and even using that timeframe my hair is not completely bone straight anyway. Next time I touch up, I'm going to leave it for less time since it doesn't straighten easily, why bother.

Thank you. I was wondering if its just a really mild relaxer or it was personal preference.

I've only used regular. Mild relaxers do nothing for my hair. I would recommend mild if you have fine hair or don't want to your hair to process too much.
