Ooooh Lawd!!!! Why did I ever....

1) Let my stylist cut off 4 inches of my just below shoulder-length hair because it was "dead ends" in 2000. I was now sporting a short bob that I had not requested. Took me 2.5 years to grow back.:(

2) Get excited that my cut hair had finally grown back and start letting my 13 year old neice relax my whole head bone straight every 4 weeks (this was for half of 2003):ohwell:

3) Recover from all the over-relaxing and decide in 2004 summer, once my hair is back healthy, that it's strong enough for permanent bronzey-gold highlights....dried my hurr like tumbleweed and helped it steadily break up to base of neck length.:nono:

4) Join LHCF, get excited, make some progress with stretching and bunning and get a sew-in weave in spring of 2005 that caused MAJOR scalp irritation from too tight braids and MASSIVE shedding (it was like my hair follicles just gave up and died from the strain). It took about 5 weeks to stop my scalp from itching terribly.

Why oh why did I put 6 permanent hair colors in my hair within a year and a half??? I'm now suffering the consequences.

In the words of Florida from Good Times: "DAMN! DAMN! DAMN!"

Why did I:

1. Try to pre-base my scalp with oil sheen the day before my relaxer. I was going to base it with actual vaseline the next day. I don't know where I read that but, my scalp was on FIRE within 30 minutes. It felt like I had sliced portions of my scalp with a razor and then applied the relaxer directly to those sections.

2. Forget my first experience and try to pre-base my scalp with Castor oil. It took a little bit longer, but the itching and burning woke me up out of my sleep. It drove me crazy. It felt like I had fire ants crawling and biting me all over my scalp.

3. Think that I could use and electric pressing comb over relaxed hair when I was in 10th grade. When I first started, I was only doing my roots to extend my relaxer. My hair went from below shoulder length, to up by my ears in one semester.

...think I could get salon quality highlights from that damn SUN-IN!!!!

....Go to the Dominican Salon faithfully EVERY week. Oh, my hair was bouncin, but it wasn't behavin'. Shedding, breakage and thinning from all that heat. Now I only go once a month and ask the heat to be turned down.

you put it on your entire head? cant you control how much it lightens your hair?

Not really!!! I did the say thing when I was in high school and I was blond. I t does not wash out either all it does is get lighter in the sun. My little sister got ahold of it and sprayed the whole front area of her head and it was a very light shade of brown and broke of really bad.
That stuff should have came with a warning lable.

I really wanted to use this too, because I just wanted like 3 shades lighter than my drk brown hair is now.
